AR15news - logoMagpul LogoFor some time now I’ve been using an aluminum rail system and have wanted to try something different.  I just wasn’t quite sure what I wanted.  I had my old standard handguards that came with my rifle but that’s obviously not any fun.  There are a lot of new rail systems and handguards out there but most of them cost at least $100 to start.

I guess what I was looking for was something that didn’t require any gunsmithing to be installed, looked really cool, had a lot of custom options/accessories, was pretty lightweight yet strong and cost barely anything.  It sounds like a lot to ask but that’s what I wanted.

The only thing I could find that met all of those criteria was the Magpul MOE Handguards.   The Magpul MOE Handguards look completely different than any of the other handguards on the market and are part of a line of Magpul Original Equipment accessories for AR-15’s.

Easy To Install: The MOE Handguards are a two-piece design meant to be a direct drop-in replacement for your standard handguard on your upper receiver and require absolutely no gunsmithing.  They simply fit inside the front handguard end cap and the Delta Ring which makes them fit really tight and feel as solid as a rock.  I literally had mine installed in about 2 minutes.  Once you get them on you won’t ever want to take them off.

Cool Tactical Look and Accessories: They have a completely smooth exterior surface with slots along with the 2 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 10 o’clock positions that are for mounting some optional accessories such as the MOE Vertical Grip, MOE Polymer Rail Sections, and the MOE Illumination kit.  There are also some aftermarket companies that make snap hooks, quick detach sling mounts, bipod mounts, etc. that mount directly to the Magpul MOE Handguard slots.

Light On Weight but Heavy On Strength & Durability: The Magpul MOE Handguards are made of a lightweight heat-resistant polymer that is internally reinforced for strength.  They also have an additional heat shield inside to keep your hands cool even when your barrel isn’t and extended ears on the front of the handguards to help keep your hands away from the hot gas block/front sight assembly.

High Quality, Low Price: Everyone knows that Magpul makes some of the best quality products on the market.  Typically high quality means high $$$.  Well, don’t tell Magpul but they forgot to jack the price up.  You can get a set of MOE Handguards for less than $30.  They make them in Carbine ($29.95), Mid ($34.95), and Rifle ($39.95) lengths.

The Magpul MOE Handguards stand second to none when you take into account Magpul quality (made right here in the US), ease of installation, strength, and durability of the MOE Handguards, and the fact that they cost as less than $30.
