As I mentioned before, AXTS and Battle Arms Development are teaming up to bring a fully ambidextrous billet lower receiver to market soon. Up until now all we had were CAD drawing pics. The high-res pics below show just how nice this lower is going to be. This has to be the coolest looking lower receiver I have seen.
They will offer a .223/5.56 and .308/7.62 version. Both versions will be compatible with 45 and 90 degree Battle Arms Development Ambidextrous Safety Selectors. I personally love how the magwell has the same pattern as the Magpul PMAG.
Check out the info and pics below from AXTS’ website. This product won’t be available until later this year.
Introducing the first truly FULL AMBI lower receiver for the AR platform. The AX556 and AX762 feature our right-hand bolt catch (integrated into the magazine release button), an easy to reach right hand bolt drop, a left hand magazine release ( right where is should be, across from the right side mag release), and an extended bolt drop paddle to make it easier for lefties to drop the bolt without breaking their grip. This receiver also features a integrated anti-rotation hammer pin. This precision heat treated ( case 58-60 Rc ) hammer pin allows the use of all aftermarket triggers and helps to eliminate creep. Our ambi safety selectors are designed and manufactured by Battle Arms Development and will be available in 45 and 90 degree configurations with pictogram markings to match.
This lower receiver is machined from 7075 T6 billet aluminum and then Type III hard anodized per mil spec MIL-A-8625F. It accepts SR25 pattern magazines. While the 5.56NATO and 7.62 NATO are the primary calibers used in this platform these receivers will be marked MULTI CAL allowing the user the option to build a rifle in any variety of different calibers.
