Ever since the 300 Blackout round was introduced to the world I (along with most of the AR-15 nuts) have been obsessed with it.  To be able to shoot a larger round while still using the same Magazines, Bolt Carrier Group, Lower and Upper seemed amazing.  All you need to change out is the barrel and flash hider.  The original idea was to just buy a barrel and then switch back-and-forth depending on if I wanted to shoot 5.56 NATO or 300 Blackout.  Obviously that would be pretty time consuming so what I decided to do was build a 300 Blackout complete upper.  This way I can swap out my 5.56 upper for a 300 Blackout upper in just a matter of seconds.  The first step was to get a barrel and I think you’ll like the one I got.

The heart of any good gun is its barrel and that is no different with my 300 Blackout Upper.  The first and only place I contacted when looking for my new barrel is my friends over at Wilson Combat.  They have a very comprehensive line of Match Grade barrels including 5 different 300 Blackout barrels.  What I will be using for this build is their Recon Tactical Fluted Stainless Steel barrel and their Accu-Tac Flash Hider.  As I continue to add parts to this build I will share them with you.  For now check out the pictures and specs below.
