RailScales is a brand new company formed by Bill Coye of Coye Knives and Derek Shelton of Asset Weapon Mfg. I’ve been a big fan of Bill Coye and his amazing knife work for a while now and its really exciting to see him venture into the AR/AK world. RailScales are KeyMod Grip Panels made out of G10 material which is commonly used in knife handles. G10 is a lightweight material but strong and very durable at the same time. One of the things you’ll notice below is that these are not massive rail covers but just enough to add some grip to your rails. This smaller size also means the won’t interfere with other accessories you might be running on your rail at the same time. Check out the pics and details below. Look for these to be available for purchase here in the next few weeks from www.GetRailScales.com.
RailScales announces G10 KeyMod Grip Panels for the AR and AK rifle platforms.
Bill Coye of Coye Knives and Derek Shelton of Asset Weapon MFG have teamed up to bring the first G10 grip panels for the KeyMod system to market. RailScales LLC was formed from Shelton’s machinist/gunsmith background and Coye’s signature textured G10 custom knife handles. This combination produces a grip panel that is not only functional, but also looks great as well.
G10 is a fiberglass reinforced epoxy laminate that is extremely durable, grippy, lightweight and has minimal heat transfer.
“Derek and I have been mutual customers since 2009,” says Coye. “We’ve watched as each other’s company has grown and it was only a matter of time before the two of us got together on a project”.
The first offering is a four grooved black panel design reminiscent of a Coye Knives custom handle. Numerous lengths, textures, colors, and other G10 accessories are already underway as well.
Launch date is on or before June 11th, 2014. Pricing and per-pack quantity information will be available at that time.
