An Updated Look At The Battle Arms Sub 4-Pound AR Project

A while back I showed you guys a sneak peek at the OIP Lightweight (sub 4-pound) rifle that Battle Arms Development has been working on. At that time the OIP Rifle was in the very early prototype stages but just yesterday Battle Arms Development release a picture of Upper, Lower and Butt Stock that will be used on the new OIP Lightweight Rifle. The OIP Lightweight Rifle will be sold exclusively through Bentwood Gunsmithing. Battle Arms Development will be offering a slightly different version of the Lightweight Components for us DIY AR builders. For instance, according to Battle Arms Development, the Battle Arms version of the lower will have solid sides in the mag well but the recess pockets will be there. You can see the photo and details below. For more information regarding this new project be sure to follow the Battle Arms Development Facebook page

Another sneak peek at the OIP Lightweight Upper, Lower, and Butt Stock in a special natural Type III hard anodize color. There are some natural fades from the anodizing process. The color also changes pending on the lighting condition and viewing angle from bronze to FDE to OD Green, Grey, etc. I think we will name it the Chameleon. Bentwood Gunsmithing is going to keep all the finish natural (no dyes) for the raw look.
