Recently MVB Industries decided to redesign the much sought after but very hard to purchase “PDW” style stock, improving on what were obvious flaws in the design that most people were used to seeing. Their new stock is the MVB ARC stock. One of the main improvements MVB has made with their new ARC stock is the fact that you can use any mil spec BCG you want instead of a proprietary BCG. The benefits of this are pretty obvious such as being able to easily swap out a damaged BCG/Bolt, swapping different caliber uppers that require specific bolts or just to simply use the BCG of your choice.
Other improvements include placing the release button on the side of the shoulder piece itself instead of up closer to the receiver making one hand operation possible. Another enhancement made is the “Buffer Hold” button that allows you to field strip your rifle as you would any other AR. They also improved the installation of the buffer tube portion of the stock as it now has slots machined in to use a 3-prong Castle Nut Wrench to tighten it down instead of requiring a strap wrench. The fit and finish also looks amazing and the stock is made right here in the USA.

MVB’s original run of these stocks sold out almost immediately which really took them by surprise as they didn’t realize there were so many people looking for a PDW style stock with these enhancements. They have been working hard to do another run and are taking pre-orders right now. This stock is obviously not gonna be cheap but will really serve you well if you want a super compact setup.
