American Defense Manufacturing is probably best known for making some really awesome quick detach optic mounts but they really blew people away last year when they introduced their new UIC or Universally Improved Carbine. The UIC was the product of redesigning any aspect of your run of the mill AR that they felt didn’t meet ADM standards to make a rifle that is “Intentionally Superior”. One of the areas that ADM focused a lot of attention to was the lower receiver.
Not only did they want to make the UIC 5.56 lower look good but they also made it function better. The ADM UIC lower is fully ambidextrous with an Ambi Bolt Catch and Bolt Release as well as an Ambi Magazine Release. They also will work with any Ambi Safety Selector including the Short Throw models that are very popular. The mag well of the lower features a familiar design that ADM calls “reinforcing ribs” that not only look pretty sweet but also make the receiver stronger. People have been asking them to offer the UIC lower stripped so they can add it to their current rifle or start a build specifically around the lower so that is what ADM just did. Starting now, you can purchase the ADM UIC billet ambi lower as a stripped lower. Check out the pictures of it and details below then head on over to www.AmericanDefenseManufacturing.com to purchase one for yourself.
The attractive, billet 7075-T6 lower receiver is outfitted with an ambidextrous magazine release, bolt catch and release, and selector switch. The magazine well features reinforcing ribs that make the magazine well 40% stronger than mil-spec forged at only ½ an ounce of weight change. The trigger guard is ready for winter gloves without manipulation. Radii and chamfers throughout make this billet lower a marvel that stretches the capabilities of modern production CNC manufacturing. A 20 degree competition style mag well is concealed in the design, allowing lightning fast magazine changes. A right side bolt catch and release lever is standard for every UIC lower, a feature not found on many comparable industry offerings. An integral adjuster allows the end user to compensate for tolerance between your upper receivers and your favorite lower. The selector pictogram is compatible with 50-90 degree selectors.
