Bravo Company USA Introduces New 300Blackout Lineup

Posted on November 20th, 2015 by ar15news

BCM is proud to introduce its new line of:

BCM 300BLK 3

With multiple phases of field testing by instructors from the BCMGunfighter™ Program and subsequent revisions/optimizations made by the engineering team at BCM®, BCM is proud to announce a line of KMR-Alpha sleeved 300 Blackout carbines in Recce 16, CQB and pistol configurations. An extension of our MIL-SPEC quality 5.56 carbines, the BCM 300 Blackout line was developed to provide an extremely effective self-defense platform in a compact package.

BCM 300BLK 3

BCM 300 Blackout carbines use the exact same components, down to the magazines, as the rest of our carbine fleet with the exception of the barrels. This also means an end user can utilize both their existing magazines and AR accessories to fine tune the feel of their carbine, same as any other M4 or Recce rifle.

BCM 300BLK 3

Despite the additional capability, BCM 300 Blackout carbines still shoot flat. The additional recoil impulse is significantly mitigated by the BCM Mod 1 7.62/300 Blackout Compensator and with proper technique, it can be run as smooth as any 5.56 carbine.

New!! Rainier Arms Back Up Iron Sights

Posted on November 18th, 2015 by ar15news

I actually just got a set of these new Rainier Arms BUIS in for review and am very impressed with their initial look and feel. You can always feel the difference of a good quality product when it is in hand and these have that feel. Literally have only had time to open them up and fondle them a bit but will get them installed and in use asap. Here is some information on them if you are looking for a nice new set of BUIS.

Available for purchase now at

We designed the Rainier Arms backup-sight so the small and large ghost ring is on the same plane. It is not necessary to change the point of aim when the distance at the target remains unaltered. No tool is necessary to alter the height of the front sight. The Rainier Arms backup-sight is suitable for all AR 15 front sights having a 8-36 UNF thread. Because of this a large variety of after market front sights may be used.

The combination of steel parts where absolutely essential and high grade aluminum parts wherever sufficient, gave us the possibility to implement a sight with minimalistic design, low weight and minimum height.

Thanks to a special surface treatment all parts are corrosion resistant to withstand even maritime conditions. The spring- loaded folding mechanism reliantly protects the sight from damage when used under rough condition in the field.

The Rainier Arms backup-sight with its very low design in a height of only 9 mm / 0.35” allows to be used with extremely low mounted optics.

New!! Push Button Ambi Speed Safety from Elftmann Tactical

Posted on November 10th, 2015 by ar15news

Talk about thinking outside the box. Elftmann Tactical just introduced a pretty neat new take on the AR-15 ambi safety that will be surprisingly familiar to many rifle shooters. Most of us grew up shooting BB guns, rifles and shotguns with a traditional push button safety. That is exactly what Elftmann Tactical just created for the AR.

The Push Button Ambi Speed Safety is as simple as it gets. On SAFE the cylinder is black and on FIRE the cylinder has a red ring. To Switch between SAFE and FIRE you just press in on the cylinder. You press on the left side to FIRE and press on the right side to return to SAFE. Its fast and easy and should be easier to use than a standard AR-15 safety under stressful situations or competition.

–  Extremely fast on-off

A few people have expressed concern regarding the possibility of accidentally bumping the safety. According to Elftmann Tactical “It takes enough pressure that is highly unlikely. I have tried purposely and not saying impossible but no more likely than doing the same thing with a 45 degree safety”

I definitely plan to grab one of these to try out. Innovation is not an easy thing to keep alive so it is always great to see companies like Elftmann continuing to come out with new and better products. Our friends at both Rainer Arms and AV Guns are carrying the new Elftmann Tactical Push Button Ambi Speed Safety which has a retail price of just $39.95, so I have put links to them below.

FIRST LOOK – Quarter Circle 10 Pistol Caliber MUR Upper

Posted on November 6th, 2015 by ar15news

Quarter Circle 10 has been working hard to bring multiple Pistol Caliber upper options to market that will match their billet Pistol Caliber lowers. First up is their collaboration with VLTOR to make a “Top Charging” Pistol Caliber MUR upper. Its a slick side upper with a smaller pistol caliber opening. “Top Charging” meaning it utilizes the standard AR-15 Charging Handle. These open for pre-order. Their website says 1-4 weeks but I was told by QC10 they they should ship by the end of next week. Price will be $179.95. If you’re looking for a very nice traditional pistol caliber upper for your QC10 or other builds, check out

ARES Defense Announces Belt-Fed MCR® Lite at NASGW

Posted on November 2nd, 2015 by ar15news

If I ever get around to doing a full auto lower I will totally need to add an ARES Defense MCR belt fed upper. ARES Defense has been introducing a lot of new stuff lately and this new “Lite” version of their MCR upper is the most recent. Check out the press release below.

**Press Release**

MELBOURNE, FL, October 30, 2015 ARES Defense Systems, the country’s leading manufacturer of innovative, mission-configurable firearms, parts and accessories announced the introduction of its belt-fed MCR® Lite at NASGW in New Orleans. The MCR® Lite is an upper receiver assembly that fits standard AR15/M4 lower receivers and just like the full-featured MCR® (Mission Configurable Rifle) upper receivers, it features gas-piston operation, a true (3 second) quick-change barrel assembly and the ability to feed from M27 linked ammunition belts or standard AR magazines at the shooter’s discretion.

ARES Defense MCR Lite

“ARES Defense built its business on our belt-fed rifles and upper receiver assemblies which among others, have been purchased by civilians, US government and militaries overseas.” says Geoffrey Herring, President-CEO of ARES Defense. “At 8.5 lbs, the MCR® is the lightest and most portable belt-fed in the world and like all ARES Defense products is 100% Made in the USA. We recently released an engineering test video of our AMG-2 government model where we demonstrate a continuous 700-round burst of automatic fire to show the reliability of our belt-fed line. While the full-featured MCR® and AMG-2 models are a first choice for professional shooters, we wanted to provide a Lite model that allows recreational shooters to experience the thrill of our belt-fed systems at a fraction of the price of our full-feature models.”

The primary differences between the MCR® and the MCR® Lite is that the Lite model has a fixed gas port, aluminum feed tray, round feed roller housing and lighter barrel than the MCR®. Available for immediate shipment by ARES Defense and also being carried by distributors AMCHAR, RSR and others, the MCR® Lite carries an MSRP price tag of $2,995.

ARES Defense AMG-2 video demonstrating a 700-round burst can be found at the following link:

Battle Arms Development originally made its name in the AR world by making hands down the best ambi safety available. Over the past few years they have literally exploded with new products including billet receivers, barrels, gas blocks, stocks, buffer tubes and even complete rifles. They have plans to go piece by piece through the AR and not just make their own version but to improve each part. One of their newest products is the BAD-EMMR or Enhanced Modular Magazine Release.

Battle Arms Development BAD-EMMR mag release 1

An extended mag release is not really a new idea but what is new is the design of the BAD-EMMR. Most other extended mag releases just use two screws to hold the extended paddle in in place. If those screws back out the paddle can become loose, wobbly and even fall off. The BAD-EMMR uses a dovetail mounting system, similar to the BAD-CASS ambi safety, and then is secured using a single set screw. The dovetail mount is held to very tight tolerances and takes all of the stress during use instead of putting it on the screws on other designs.

Battle Arms Development BAD-EMMR mag release 1

Battle Arms Development BAD-EMMR mag release 1

Precision CNC Machined for billet 7075-T6 Aluminum in an anodized BLACK finish, the BAD-EMMR features an unique, patent pending three sided dovetail finger pad attachment mechanism that allows for maximum strength, an almost uninterrupted finger pad face for maximum design aesthetics, light weight and low profile design. The interchangeable finger pads offers excellent ergonomic feel and ease of operation without shifting grip position. If you are looking for maximum flexibility, robust design and unparalleled design aesthetics, the BAD-EMMR is the ultimate extended magazine release for you.

The BAD-EMMR is available in Black, Red or Raw interchangeable extended finger pads and will have other design and color options in the future as well. The BAD-EMMR is available for purchase right now and is definitely the best execution of an extended mag release that I have seen to date and at just $21.95, they are pretty affordable too.
