Multitasker Tools is officially announcing that they are offering the Multitasker Tools TWIST mulititool in #TeamTaskerTan (a blend of Coyote Tan with a hint of OD). The Multitasker Tools TWIST is hands down one of the most useful and easily carried tools I own. When not in use the TWIST is basically the size of a sharpie and clips to a pocket, pouch, MOLLE webbing, etc. but when you need its help it quickly changes into the superhero of multitools able to tackle pretty much anything you ask of it. Even though the TWIST is “weaponcentric” (designed for weapon maintenance) you’ll find yourself grabbing the TWIST for tons of non-weapon jobs as well.
The Multitasker Tools TWIST combines all of the following tools into one compact package: – Aimpoint turret adjuster on rear cap – Pocket clip is a light-duty slotted screwdriver – Heavy-duty dental pick with brass shank – 3/32 pin punch – Radial carbon scraper – M16A2 style FSP adjustment tool on a magnetic ¼” hex bit holder – 10 ¼” hex bits + carrier strip – Dimensions: 5″ long by 2/3″ wide – Weight: Less than 2 ounces
The “TeamTasker Tan” version of the Multitasker Tools TWIST will initially be available soon at the following locations.
Multitasker Tools makes some of the most useful multitools specifically designed for owners of AR-15’s and other popular firearms. One of my personal favorites is the TWIST which is like a pen that Q would have made for James Bond and is packed with useful tools to help keep your firearms running and on target. If you remove the cap on one end it reveals a bunch of maintenance tools such as a carbon scraper, dental pick, etc that screw onto the end of the cap that was just removed. When you remove the other cap you’ll find a Front Sight Adjustment Tool which doubles also as a bit driver. Other features such as an Aimpoint Micro Turret Adjuster are also included.
As they have done in the past, Multitasker Tools has partnered up with Brownells to offer a limited edition version of the TWIST hydrodipped in Multicam. The Limited Edition Multitasker Tools TWIST will sell out fast but your hands on the them first at www.Brownells.com.
(Marietta, GA) Multitasker Tools®, the leader in weaponcentric multitool development, announces a limited edition version of their popular TWIST in Multicam. The TWIST is a pen-shaped multitool designed for weapon maintenance and optics/sight adjustments. CNC machined from T-6063 aluminum and Mil-spec Type III Anodized. Weighing less than 2 oz, the TWIST measures just 5” x 2/3”.
The new Griffin Armament Low-Pro RIGID rail kits are now available! The kits include your choice of a 8.6″, 10.5″, 13.5″ or 15″ complete Griffin Low-Pro RIGID™ MLOK rail system, Griffin Primo Gas Block, Griffin Rail Shield 4-piece rail cover kit and the Wrench and Hardware to mount this kit to your weapon. If you are looking for a nice upgrade to your current rifle or looking to finish off a build, these kits are a high quality yet surprisingly low cost option. Check out the press release, pics and video below. You can purchase these kits now at www.GriffinArmament.com.
Griffin AR15 rail kits include rail panels, gas block assemblies, and all tools and hardware needed for a turnkey rail system.
The design objective for the Griffin Low-Pro RIGID™ rails were to provide a slim, ultralight M-LOK rail, with increased rigidity over current similar market options.
“We had been looking at the market for a while and noticed that there were two types of rails essentially. Rails that were beefy and strong, and rails that were slim and unfortunately weaker. We wanted to combine the desirable attributes of both category products into one optimal rail system.”, Austin stated, Primary owner and Lead engineer for Griffin. He went on, “The final design resulted in 70% more rigidity than current similar market slim rails. This is important for those who need to use IR lasers as armed professionals or for hunting. There are a lot of great options now in IR laser aimer products that have solid mounting and solid bodies and we wanted to make a slim rail that provided industry leading point of aim / point of impact for those aimers.”
Low-Pro RIGID™ rails feature a 7075 aluminum barrel nut which can be installed with the included Griffin Armorers Wrench. The mounting is done with included shims and flat head cap screws for an ultra-flush and low profile mating to the receiver. 17-4 stainless QD flush cups are included which thread into the barrel nut through holes in the rail.
The kits include the Griffin Primo Gas Block™, a 416R stainless .750” ID gas block which can be set screwed in place and / or pinned.
Additionally, the rail kits include the Griffin RAIL SHIELD™ panels as standard equipment. This 4 piece kit provides a 4.6” length surface for heat protection and griping. The user can choose to use the flat bottom panel or angled grip panel for enhanced recoil control.
As an avid AR owner/builder I have lots of experience piecing together rifles and the tools that are required to do that. I’ve used pretty much everything from the super cheap to pretty pricey when it comes to Armorer’s Tools. Most of your “inexpensive” Armorer’s Tools are, for the most part, made for the AR owner who will build a rifle once or twice a year and are prone to marring you rifle parts and tend to break during use. Some just flat out don’t work as advertised and are a “jack of all, master of none” type of design. I’m always looking out for the next must have armorer’s tools. Geissele Automatics did it with their Reaction Rod and now it looks like Fire 4 Effect has done it with their new F4E AWS (Armorer’s Wrench Set).
Instead of one wrench that is supposed to do everything, the F4E AWS consists of 3 separate wrenches including a Barrel Nut Wrench, Castle Nut Wrench and Muzzle Device Wrench. This design made it so the portion of the wrench you are trying to use is positioned in the center with an extended handle on both ends of the wrench. On each of those handles are cutouts for use with a torque wrench and the suggested torque settings are actually etched on. The Castle Nut Wrench has an amazing design to it that doesn’t allow it to tear up your castle nut or buffer tube and the Barrel Nut Wrench features 9 points of contact that are all replaceable if one gets bent. Just seems like an extremely well thought out set of wrenches. Check out the pics, video and details below.
NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT!
The Fire 4 Effect team is proud to announce the F4E Armorers Wrench Set! Developed by Master Gunsmith and former Army Marksmanship Unit NCOIC Matt Haidu the Armorers Wrench Set or AWS consists of a Barrel Wrench, Castle Nut Wrench and Muzzle Device Wrench.
Manufactured from water jet cut mild steel that has been CNC milled, laser engraved with a custom cerakote finish the AWS is designed to provide a lifetime of use for the AR15 armorer. Each wrench has a life time warranty.
The Barrel Nut Wrench provides 9 points of contact on the barrel nut and features hardened steel roll pins which can be easily replaced by the individual armorer.
The Castle Nut Wrench uses recessed castle nut lugs for improved lock up during assembly and disassembly. The Castle Nut Wrench also doubles as a Receiver Extension / buffer tube wrench.
The Muzzle Device Wrench features a alignment groove to assist armorers while indexing muzzle devices.
Torque wrench attachment points have the corrected torque wrench calculation engraved on the Muzzle Device Wrench.
The Muzzle Device Wrench also features shoulder inlets to accommodate crush washer expansion.
All wrenches incorporate 2 handles for balanced manual torque application during assembly or reassembly.
If you are a serious AR build, not just a once a year builder, you will definitely need to get your hands on a set of these awesome wrenches. Fire-4-Effect offers a 10% MIL/LE discount with appropriate credentials. You can order your AWS at www.fire-4-effect.com

I’ve spent a lot of money on Armorers Tools so I can build them faster, better and easier. Unfortunately there are a ton of overpriced junk tools out there. One of the first tools I bought was one of the long cast metal Armorers Wrench that I found by searching online. It had a very thick layer of brittle paint on it so the specs were off and hardly worked. One day I snapped the castle nut wrench off of the wrench just trying to tighten down a buffer tube. Just junk and worst part is it cost me $35.
Fast forward to now, the guys at Griffin Armament are hoping to fill in the need for an inexpensive, high quality Armorers Wrench with their new $9.95 Griffin Armorers Wrench. This wrench is made of 4140 Steel that is hardened to 48RC with a Black Oxide finish. This one single wrench comes with a 1/2″ Drive Slot to attach to a ratchet or bar, 5/8″ and 3/4″ open end wrenches, 3 prong buffer tube wrench and …. a bottle opener. 🙂
This tool should be all but indestructible but at just $9.95, if you happen to destroy it somehow, the price makes it what I consider somewhat disposable and you just buy another one. Don’t spend the same or more on an Armorers Wrench made of crap metals or bad design. Snag one of these from www.GriffinArmament.com.
The Griffin Armorers wrench is a 4140 steel wrench hardened to 48RC. Black oxide and oil dipped. Some finish irregularity is common to this industrial tool. The wrench allows installation of Griffin Muzzle devices, Castle nuts on AR firearms, Griffin Low Pro Rigid™ rails, and interfaces with many Griffin Silencers for maintenance or configuring. This tool allows easy access to your favorite bottled beverage.
Features – 4140 Steel hardened to 48RC
– Black oxide / oil dip finish
– 1/2″ drive compatible
– 5/8″ and 3/4″ open end wrenches
– 3 prong CAR wrench geometry
– Bottle opener
Just happened to run across this new AR-15 multi-tool last night and thought I would share it with you guys. This tool is specifically designed for installing buffer tubes/stock kits on your AR. If you’re planning on building an AR anytime soon you will need specific tools to complete the installation of certain parts such as a Castle Nut Wrench to tighten the castle nut, holding the buffer tube firmly in place.
The AR-15 Multi-tool from Motorcity Tactical Works has a Castle Nut Wrench and A2 Buffer Tube Wrench built into one tool. Its made from 1/4 inch 304 Stainless Steel and has an ergonomic hand grip design. It also incorporates a bottle opener/hanger hook on the opposite end.
The price point is what caught my eye. At just $12.99 each it might be a good tool to just have hanging around the shop for when you need it. I would love to see them move the 5/8″ A2 buffer tube wrench cutout to the middle of the tool which would give them room to add a .750 or .825 muzzle brake wrench to the tool. All in all, looks like a decent little tool to have laying around. Check them out at http://motorcity-tactical-works.myshopify.com/products/ar15-multi-tool

– Slotted screwdriver (the pocket clip)
– M16 A2 style front sight adjustment tool
– Carbon scraperDental pick
– 3/32 pin punch

and the dental pick on the Multitasker Tools TWIST (right).
One of the first questions everyone asks about….everything is, “What’s it cost?”. The Multitasker Tools TWIST will be a pleasant surprise coming in at an MSRP of just $59.95 and a street price of closer to $50. Seems like an extremely reasonable price for a tool that you’ll be able to carry everywhere with you and will probably get lots of use. Looks like these are still 2-3 weeks away from showing up on dealer websites so keep an eye on both the Multitasker Tools Facebook page and Multitasker Tools Instagram page for availability updates.

One of my absolute least favorite roll pins to install is the Bolt Catch Roll Pin. Its location makes it difficult to get at and being parallel to the side of the lower means if your punch slips off the roll pin when you hit it you are gonna scratch your new lower or your customers lower. Some companies have started making threaded bolt catch pins and holes to make life easier but you should never had to buy your new lower based on whether or not it has a threaded bolt catch hole or not. KAK Industry just introduced yesterday a new Bolt Catch Roll Pin Starter Punch that is extra long so you can hit it with a hammer behind the lower, is made of 304 Stainless Steel and features a recessed opening to hold the roll pin while you get it started. While Roll Pin Starter Punch’s are not a new invention by any means, I don’t remember ever seeing one specifically designed for the Bolt Catch Pin before so it really peaked my interest.
What’s even more impressive….the cost is just $10. Every AR builder should have the right tools to do the job and this is definitely one of them.

Saw this last night on the KE Arms Facebook and Instagram feed and thought I would share it with you guys. This is a Barrel Nut Wrench that attaches to a torque wrench or socket wrench. It has 5 pins on each side, strategically placed to work with both a standard AR-15 Barrel Nut and .308 Barrel Nut. By having 5 pins you shouldn’t have too much force on any single one but if you do happen to bend or break one you are able to tap them out and install a new pin. I’ve used similar style wrenches in the past and they work great. The only thing I would love to see is they could add in a Castle Nut Wrench at a 90 Degree angle so the pins wouldn’t be in the way of the wrench shaft. Even without a Castle Nut Wrench, this looks like something I’ll have to pick up to try out. No word on pricing or availability but it should be coming soon to www.KEArms.com.
Another new product from KE Arms, the last barrel nut wrench you will ever need to buy. .223 & .308 with 5 replaceable pins on each side for better distribution of force. Even if you bend or break them you can tap them out and install new ones.
I’ve built tons of AR-15 uppers and a good majority of them use Low Profile Gas Blocks with set screws and a few are pinned to the barrel. A couple of things I’ve learned with experience is that I always use Loctite on the set screws and whenever possible, I prefer to have the barrel dimpled for the set screw to seat in properly and really lock the gas block in place. It always amazes me when I spend good money on a barrel only to find that they didn’t take the time to dimple the barrel on the bottom side of the gas block seat and it happens more often than not.
The guys over at Parallax Tactical have found a way to make great use of their blemished Low Pro Gas Blocks by installing a Cone Point Set Screw that locks into the Gas Port of the barrel and a Hardened Steel Drill Bushing that allows you to use a simple hand drill and Cobalt 11/64th drill bit to dimple your barrels and in the exact right place every time.
These come as a complete kit, including the 11/64th Cobalt Drill Bit and is available for both .750 and .625 gas block journal diameters. The entire kit will sell for just $49.95 and can be used over and over again. Order one for yourself today at www.WeaponOutfitters.com. I’m going to!
Presenting a REAL gas block dimpling jig. (compare to BRD with no drill bushing, limited use. We had to buy three-four of them before we found it cheaper just to use our reject gas blocks.)
Comes with a hardened steel drill bushing, a cobalt 11/64th drill bit and a cone point #10-32 cone point set screw which positively locates the gas port for a perfectly lined up dimple directly beneath the gas port for optimum function and security for all low profile gas blocks.
