If you’ve ever owned a Pistol Caliber AR you know very well that fine tuning them is all about the buffer system as most Pistol Caliber ARs are blowback so there is no gas block or gas tube at all to adjust. However, fine tuning them is a must. I was absolutely surprised by the amount of felt recoil the first time I shot my 9mm PCC. Pistol Caliber Carbines are known for breaking a Bolt Catch and increasing internal wear if you don’t figure out how to slow down the Bolt. Most people end up guessing and buying a heavy buffer of any number of ounces or will buy a number of them and try them all (that’s what I did LoL). Quarter Circle 10, the industry leader and standard for Pistol Caliber ARs, has just introduced their new Adjustable Pistol Buffer Assembly which looks like a real winner.
Adjustable Blowback Buffer Assembly for use with most pistol caliber carbines, suppressed or unsuppressed, including 9MM, .40 S&W and .45ACP. Quick change weight management allows use with multiple configurations.
Package Includes: 4 aluminum weights, 4 steel weights, 4 tungsten weights, 4 rubber spacers, buffer body and allen wrench.
- 8620 Steel construction and QPQ nitrite finish for maximum wear and durability
- Easy user adjustability from 5-11oz with included Aluminum, Steel, and Tungsten weights
- Threaded retaining pin and included allen key eliminates need for hammer and punch
- Extended length for increased bolt catch life (no spacer necessary)
- Drop-in installation
- For use in carbine length buffer tubes
- Ideal for tuning your Pistol caliber AR for the best function, felt recoil, and sound suppression
***For pistol caliber blow back builds only

ETS Group Glock mags have been a huge hit ever since their introduction last year. Part of the reason for their popularity is that they cost quite a bit less than an OEM Glock mag and the transparent body looks awesome too. I bought some of the 31rd 9mm Glock mags from ETS a while back to use in my QuarterCircle10 AR9 and they have been awesome. They function flawlessly and are the only mags I have that will reliably lock the bolt back on an empty mag. They currently offer eight different 9mm Glock magazines and now they have added six new .40 Cal Glock magazines. Those new mags are 9rd, 13rd, 16rd, Competition Legal 19rd, Competition Legal 24rd and a 31rd.
These new ETS Group .40 Cal Glock Mags start at just $16.99 but ETS is offering an introductory discount code which will save you 15% off. Just use the code “ETS40” during checkout at www.ETSGroup.us.
Our friends at FightLite Industries have been working overtime behind the scenes on some really cool new projects. They’ve thrown a couple of teasers out showing a new Pistol Caliber Carbine. Pistol Caliber AR’s are one of the most active parts of the AR market right now. More and more companies are joining that segment and producing their own product but most are just “me too” products. FightLite is a pretty innovative company so its no surprise they weren’t going to just produce a basic product.
Here’s what we know! The three things that stand out the most to me about this setup are …
-1. It’s Caliber convertible at user level….22LR, 9mm, .40S&W, 10mm, .45ACP.
-2. It can use Glock, Beretta, CZ, S&W, Springfield and Sig mags.
-3. It appears it is a side charging upper with the handle positioned right at the front of the upper receiver.
The modularity of Caliber and Magazine compatibility make the possibilities pretty much endless and give the end user the ability to make one build and customize it to fit their current needs. Here are a couple of full auto videos for you to check out. Although it is shown in raw aluminum it will have a anodized finish.
We’ll continue to keep an eye out for additional information regarding this new product and will reach out to FightLite for some exclusive content to share. If you would like to be one of the first to know about FightLite Industry news I would suggest giving them a follow on the FightLite.Industries Instagram Account.
For you Pistol Caliber builders out there….I just saw that the new Quarter Circle 10 Pistol MUR uppers are back in-stock. A few of my buddies have these and they match up very nicely to the QC10 billet lowers. The part that makes these different from other uppers is that VLTOR made these specifically for QC10 with a slick side wall with no forward assist along with a taller ejection port to allow extra ejection clearance for rounds from 9mm up to .45 ACP. If you’re looking for a great upper to complete your Pistol Caliber build, this is a great option. Check them out at www.QuarterCircle10.com.

New Frontier Armory is always pumping out awesome new products so it was no surprise to see their new Extra Heavy Blowback 8-Ounce Buffer pop up on their Facebook page. You might be asking…”What is a Blowback Buffer and why does it need to weigh a whopping 8-ounces?”. Well, it all has to do with Pistol Caliber AR’s.
Instead of using a gas system like a Direct Impingement AR to cycle the weapon, most Pistol Caliber AR’s (9mm, .40, .357 Sig, .45, etc) all use Blowback Operation. With a Blowback system their is a ton of energy throwing that BCG back and unless you do something to slow it down, it creates more felt recoil and it can tear things apart or cause excess wear. With Blowback ARs there is no Gas Block to adjust so your only option is to adjust the buffer weight. In comes the Extra Heavy 8-ounce Blowback Buffer from New Frontier Armory.
In my personal 9mm build I am running a 5.3 ounce H3 buffer. There is still more felt recoil than there needs to be but there aren’t too many buffer options out there that weigh more than the H3 buffer. NFA’s 8oz Blowback Buffer is made of solid Stainless Steel with an overall length of 4″ and would be a great next step in slowing down the BCG so its not slamming back so hard. It’s priced right too at just $39.99.
So, if you’re looking to smooth out your Pistol Caliber AR, the The New Frontier Armory Extra Heavy 8oz Blowback Buffer is definitely an option to look into. You can check them out at www.NewFrontierArmory.com.
Quarter Circle 10 has been adding tons of new products to their lineup lately and from what I understand this is just the beginning. Today they added two more options. First is the option of purchasing their GSF (Glock Small Frame) lower with a standard LPK (lower parts kit) at a discounted price. Second is the ability to purchase a matched receiver set which includes the GSF (Glock Small Frame) lower and their new Pistol Caliber MUR upper which was introduced a few weeks ago. This is one step closer to QC10 offering complete uppers, lowers and Rifle/Pistol builds.
Both of these new options are currently being offered at a 10% discount but will return to normal pricing this Friday, April 15th. If you’re looking to start your next Pistol Caliber AR, this is a great deal to jump in on.
ETS Group continues to expand their line of Glock Magazines with the new addition of their G22 mag. OEM Glock 22 mags will only hold 15 rounds but the ETS Group G22 mag holds 16 while still fitting flush in the Glock 22. The best part is the ETS Group G22 mags are only $16.99 each. Check them out at www.ETSGroup.us.

I recently built a Quarter Circle 10 9mm AR and am kind of obsessed with the pistol caliber ARs. The one I built uses Glock mags which is cool since I carry a Glock but another reason I like it is that its pretty inexpensive to shoot and is a nice change from the standard AR. This year at SHOT Show, QC10 had some new components to show off including a new KeyMod handguard, a lower that takes MP5 mags and a new Side Charging upper. They announced that they will be creating lowers that take mags for the Sig 226, 229 and M&P and they will also be offering complete guns with pre-orders starting next week .
The new KeyMod hand guards look pretty awesome. They definitely have their own unique style which is a good thing. Too many rails out there look pretty much the same. No ETA or price range yet.

Here’s a look at the Side Charging upper that QC10 partnered up with VLTOR on. This particular one is a prototype but gives you a good idea of what the final model will look like.

Last but definitely not least, that MP5 lower!! QC10 will be growing their list of mag compatible lowers this year to include MP5 mags, Sig 226 and 229 mags and Smith & Wesson M&P mags.

Definitely exciting to see Quarter Circle 10 growing so much and really just killing it with their new products. If you’re interested in building or buying a Pistol Caliber AR, Quarter Circle 10 is the company to watch this year!!
If you’ve been wanting to start a pistol caliber AR build there’s not better time than right now. Quarter Circle 10 just sprung a surprise sale for Christmas and its one you need to jump on for sure. Starting right now (12/23/15) and running through Saturday 12/26/15, purchase any Quarter Circle 10 lower receiver and a Quarter Circle 10 t-shirt and you will save 30% off. I recently built one of my favorite ARs using a Quarter Circle 10 lower, barrel and BCG which is shown below. I was told you were bad this year and Santa isn’t bringing you anything so take matters into your own hands and get something nice for yourself!
Quarter Circle 10 has been working hard to bring multiple Pistol Caliber upper options to market that will match their billet Pistol Caliber lowers. First up is their collaboration with VLTOR to make a “Top Charging” Pistol Caliber MUR upper. Its a slick side upper with a smaller pistol caliber opening. “Top Charging” meaning it utilizes the standard AR-15 Charging Handle. These open for pre-order. Their website says 1-4 weeks but I was told by QC10 they they should ship by the end of next week. Price will be $179.95. If you’re looking for a very nice traditional pistol caliber upper for your QC10 or other builds, check out www.QuarterCircle10.com.
If you’ve been wanting to start a Pistol Caliber AR build, now is the time to do it. Quarter Circle 10 has all of their billet lowers on sale for 15% Off. This includes their Glock Small Frame lowers which accept Glock magazines for 9mm / 357 Sig / 40 S&W, Glock Large Frame Lowers which accept Glock magazines for 45ACP / 10mm and Colt 9mm Lowers. Don’t forget to check out their selection of Barrels and BCG’s while you’re there.
In Honor of Orville Wright’s Birthday Quarter Circle 10 is having an Aviation Week sale! Starting today until next Friday lowers are 15% off while supplies last.
