If you’re a fan of fixed sights on your AR, you’re going to want to check these out!! It’s been a while since Centurion Arms did a run of their super popular C4 Diopter Sights. The C4 Diopter Sights basically take the look and feel of HK Iron Sights and adapt them for use on an AR-15 with a standard flat top upper receiver.

“Centurion Arms is reintroducing a set of “diopter” style iron sights for use with AR-15 or M4 flat top receivers. The sights are designed to the correct ergonomic height for the standard AR-15/M4 flat top receivers in any of the popular calibers including (5.56, 300BLK, 9mm ect) for the proper feel and rapid sight acquisition.”

C4 Sights Diopter 3

“The rear drum has four different apertures, allowing the shooter to rapidly adjust for different light conditions. It uses a standard HK type adjustment tool for windage and elevation.”

C4 Sights Rear-1

“The front sight mounts to any commonly available same plane rail style hand guard that is the industry standard. It uses a standard fixed blade which can be replaced with the tritium front sight blade commonly sold for the HK91/94/93/ and MP5’s.”

C4 Sights Front-1

“Both front and rear sights are also compatible with any standard AR-15/M4 sights, including any standard height back up iron sights or the detachable carry handle rear sights. This offers the shooter maximum sight options. The Centurion Arms sights also take up a minimal amount of rail space leaving plenty of room to be used as back up iron sights in conjunction with Aimpoint, EOTech and most other readily available red dot sights.”

“The front and rear sight set retails for $225.00. For more information, please contact Centurion Arms at www.centurionarms.com, sales@centurionarms.net

If you’ve followed AR15NEWS for any decent length of time you’ve probably noticed we build lots of ARs. Some times, as an AR builder, it’s easy to get in a rut and kind of build the same thing over and over again which gets boring. All it takes is a bit of imagination and planning and your next build can be the best one you’ve ever put together. This is the very case with my most recent build.

Believe it or not I had SBR’d this Rainier Arms forged lower well over a year ago but had no idea what I wanted to do with it. Then it came to me and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. From there it was just a matter of time before I had the parts in hand and ready to build.

Lets start out with a few closer shots. From this angle you can see the Rainier Arms ambi safety, Juggernaut Tactical ambi charging handle and Scalarworks OPS (On Point Sights) fixed rear sight.

Rainier Arms SBR Build 1 - Scalarworks OPS Fixed Sights Juggernaut Tactical Ambi Charging Handle - Rainier Arms Ambi Safety

As I mentioned above, this build got started as a Rainier Arms Forged A-DAC lower that I bought and Form 1’d just before the ATF41P effective date. I added a Rainier Arms forged upper and ambi safety, CMC Triggers Flat 3.5lb Trigger and LPK, Superlative Arms Piston Kit, Juggernaut Tactical ambi charging handle, Geissele MK4 rail and Scalarworks OPS Fixed Sights and Low Drag Mount for the Aimpoint T1 and a SureFeed Magazines 20 Round mag.

Rainier Arms SBR Build 2 - CMC Triggers Flat Trigger Geissele SMR MK4 rail Scalarworks OPS Fixed Sights Aimpoint Micro T1 Rainier Arms A-DAC

Of course as a Rainier Arms SBR build I chose to use their 10.5″ .223 Wylde barrel. Covered it with a Geissele MK4 rail, Arisaka Defense 300/IR Series Scout Light and Inline Scout Mount, SureFire SR07 switch, Scalarworks OPS Fixed Front Sight, Magpul vertical grip and Griffin Armament Taper Mount Supresspr Mount. The Superlative Arms Piston Kit gas block is under there somewhere. 😜

Rainier Arms SBR Build - Geissele SMR MK4 - Arisaka Inline Scout Light Mount 300 Series Scalarworks OPS Front Fixed Sight magpul vertical grip Surefire SR07

Here’s another angle of the business end on the new Rainier Arms SBR build. From this angle you can now see how accessible the Superlative Arms Piston Kit gas block is under the rail. This isn’t like many piston kits were you have one or two settings. Its more like a Piston Kit that has a built in fully adjustable gas block so you can really tune it in.

Rainier Arms SBR Build - Superlative Arms - Rainier Arms - Geissele - Scalarworks - Magpul = Arisaka Rainier Arms

This next shot gives you a better idea of how tidy things are on this build. It’s got everything I need and nothing I don’t. The Scalarworks OPS fixed sights and mount for the Aimpoint T1 are absolutely amazing.

Rainier Arms SBR Build - rainier arms = cmc triggers = scalarworks = aimpoint t1 - juggernaut tactical - magpul - geissele

And here it is. Hope you guys enjoyed a pretty detailed look at my new Rainier Arms SBR build. In the end, this SBR turned out even better than I had pictured it but the initial imagination and passion to create another gun is what got it all started. Don’t be in too much of a hurry to just slap together the first complete rifle you can. Take your time with your next build, map it out, think about what would make you smile every time you see it and then build that.

Rainier Arms SBR Build - rainier arms - geissele - cmc triggers - magpul - scalarworks - griffin armament - surefire = superlative arms piston kit - aimpoint juggernaut tactical

Here’s the full run down of parts for this build. If you want to copy it, be my guest. Would make for a great AR Pistol build too.

Already had a chance to get the gas dialed in on the piston kit and man this thing is smooth. Will be getting some range time this week with this gun getting it sighted in. Will let you guys know how it runs soon.

Tyrant Designs has continued to rapidly grow their line of AR15 grips with the addition of their new HALO Series HandStop. The HALO Series HandStop shares similar curves and style as the HALO MiniVert foregrip but with a shorter body. It also is compatible with both KeyMod and MLOK….just swap the mounting hardware and you can use it on whichever rail system you want. Just like the HALO MiniVert, the HALO Series HandStop is made completely out of aluminum and has had all of the edges chamfered for a very comfortable feeling in your hand.

If you’ve been looking for BUIS lately you’ve probably noticed that what used to be a one or two dog show has all of a sudden become a main event with some really nice contenders. Now you have to decide… “Are these bulky sights okay or should I look for a super compact set?”, “Do I want to go really cheap or really expensive?”, “Do I want normal 90 degree BUIS or should I go for a set of offset ones?”, on and on the decision making goes until your head is spinning. Apparently Griffin Armament has had this same experience because their new M2 (Micro Modular) Sights address all of that and more. The new M2 Sights are very compact, can be user configured in 90 degree or 45 degree offset and the price point even for the complete “Full Deployment Kit” is right in line or cheaper than many non-modular BUIS.

The M2 Sights can be purchased in a 90 Degree Kit, 45 Degree Offset Kit or the Full Deployment Kit which comes with both 90 Degree and 45 Degree mount plates. The Full Deployment Kit retails for just $185. They also sell just the mounting plates, so if you go for a 90 Degree now instead of the full kit you can still convert them to 45 Degree Offset BUIS down the road. Read more about this awesome new product below or head on over to www.GriffinArmament.com.

Griffin Armament is proud to introduce affordable Micro Modular Sights (M2) compatible with Picatinny rail systems. Griffin M2 sights offer an industry first, patent pending, modular base plate system. Constructed from QPQ Treated 17-4 and ordnance grade steel, Griffin M2 Sights were designed to be the correct product for every backup sight application.

griffin-armament-m2-micro-modular-sights-3

A shooter can use these durable, low profile sights in a 12 o’clock mounted application while having the flexibility to reconfigure them to ambidextrous 45 degree angle sights using the alternate and available angle plates. This flexibility ensures these sights can be used by anyone and will never end up in a box of undesirable legacy kit. The full M2 deployment kit includes the front and rear sight assemblies as well as both vertical and angled bases for a complete modular system. However, sights and bases are available separately for users who wish to buy parts as needed. The front A2 sight provides elevation adjustment while ensuring maximum aftermarket support for your favorite post, be it tritium, fiber optic, match grade, or otherwise. An extremely low profile, snag resistant, slotted rear windage screw, affords easy but more importantly secure adjustability.

griffin-armament-m2-micro-modular-sights-3

Robust spring tension of both front and rear flip up assemblies ensures accurate repeatability every time the sight towers are actuated.

Never before has a product in this category offer this degree of flexibility. Griffin M2 Sights have a minimal foot print, and are among the smallest backup sights on the market. For a mere 2 and half ounces your rifle can be equipped with a durable iron sight system, to provide aiming capability in rain, snow, or fog, on or off axis without dependence on batteries or glass.

Do you have a SureFire ST07 Tape Switch? If you’ve bought any SureFire Scout Lights chances are you have an ST07 somewhere. If you’re like me, almost all of them are in a box of spare parts in my gun room because I upgraded to something like the expensive SR07 rail grabber tape switch or went with the clicky tail cap. The ST07, to me, is pretty useless straight out of the box. Its a good switch but I don’t like zip tying, taping or velcro’ing it to my gun. However, the ST07 may have found new life.

surefire-st07-tape-switch

A company called Cloud Defensive just introduced their new LCS (Light Control System) which is a mount specifically designed to securely attach your ST07 to any 1913 picatinny rail section. Most shooters will prefer to mount it to the top (12 o’clock) section of the rail but I assume you could even use an offset picatinny rail mount as well. The LCS also has the option of the ICC (Integrated Cable Clamp) which helps route the cable of the ST07 tape switch and keeps it from being able to get snagged on anything.

cloud-defensive-light-control-system-1

cloud-defensive-light-control-system-1

Introducing the Light Control System (LCS) with optional Integrated Cable Clamp (ICC).  Designed for the Surefire ST07 tape switch. A vastly superior mounting platform for your tape switch that allows you to secure excess cable under the mount. No more improvised mounting solutions. No more weak links on your rifle. Two problems solved with one product.

Another reason why the LCS mount might be just what you’re looking for…its just $50. You can also upgrade to the LCS with the Integrated Cable Clamp for another $10 more. Cloud Defensive just put these up on their website so head on over to www.CloudDefensive.com and get one today.
