American Defense Manufacturing just announced a few new red dot sight mounts. They are already well known for their Quick Detach scope mounts and red dot mounts but are adding a couple of cool options by way of a 33 degree and 45 degree offset mount for the Aimpoint T1/T2 red dot sight and the Trijicon RMR red dot sight.
As you are probably already aware, engaging targets at close range with a traditional magnified scope is not an easy thing to do. Many guys will install offset backup sights which can take more time to align the front and rear sight if you need to rapidly acquire a target. By using an offset red dot sight mount you get the benefit of not having to align anything, just put the red dot where it needs to be and fire.
Choose between 33 and 45 degree offsets and Left or Right hand style. There are other options out there but until today, none were being offered by ADM with their trusted QD system which is a big deal. You can check these out for yourself at the links below.
Thordsen Customs just introduced their new Picatinny Buffer Tube Adapter. This adapter will allow you to mount an AR Buffer Tube (pistol or carbine) to any gun with a vertical rear picatinny rail section. Guns such as the very popular Sig MPX typically come as a Pistol from the factory. The end user can now attach a buffer tube to use items such as the Thordsen Customs AR Pistol Cheek Rest Kit, Sig SB15 arm brace, Shockwave Stabilizer or if they have SBR’d the pistol they can easily add a collapsible AR-15 stock once the stamp comes back. If you’re looking for something like this, head on over to www.ThordsenCustoms.com and check them out.
Our new Picatinny Buffer Tube Adapter is a great addition to your Sig MPX, Sig P556XI, Rock River PDS, or any other pistol that utilizes a rear vertical picatinny rail. It gives a shooter the ability to add a cheekrest for greater stability or a stock for SBR conversions (federal tax stamp required).
The mounting method follows true STANAG (NATO Standard Agreement) protocol using the two back angles and the top of the rail as the contact points. The result is perfect alignment with the centerline of the firearm. A feature that is not attainable with typical side clamping adapters. Another bonus is that there are no visible fasteners or holes on the top and sides of the adapter for a clean sleek look.
Kinetic Development Group has just released the larger 7-SLOT model of their KINECT rail sections for M-LOK rails. KDG’s KINECT is a Quick Attach/Detach system for mounting accessories to M-LOK rails including rail sections, bipod mounts and soon offset light mounts as well. Just simply press the KINECT accessory onto the M-LOK rail and it releases wedges that lock the piece in place. If you’re looking for a true QD solution to mounting accessories on your M-LOK rail, this is it!
The Kinect™ by KDG for MLOK™ is a revolutionary QD mounting system that will change the way we attach accessories to our modular weapons platforms. Much like the Sidelok™ optics mounts, Kinect™ insures proper and easy installation, eliminating common variables that would cause issues (ie: over tightening). Although revolutionary, Kinect™ is quite simple in its operation. There are two spring-loaded wedges in the base of the Kinect™ mounting point. When you press the accessory or rail section down in the MLOK™ slot, two deployment triggers get pressed against the rail firing the wedges into place. There is nothing more frustrating that fiddling with an allen wrench (if you can find it) to get your accessories on and off your weapon with traditional modular rail sections. This changes the whole dynamic of the MLOK™ system and really makes every accessory truly removable with the ability to mount it in a second when needed.
Length: 3.73″ Uses two MLOK section
Width: .82″ (20.9mm)
Height: .41″ (10.5mm)
Finish: Black Anodized
Compatibility: Compatible with any MLOK rail system. (**Rail must be within proper Magpul MLOK Spec for KInect to work properly. If rail is not in spec, Kinect will not work.)

The new BCM KeyMod Rail Panels that we introduced to you last week are now available in all colors. BCM KeyMod Rail Panels are ultra-slim surfaces with aggressive non-slip and non-reflective texturing. Ventilated for cooling, each panel is radiused to create a continuous “tube” surface when run on an octagonal profile handguard such as the BCM KMR.
Made in the U.S.A. of a high-strength polymer material, BCM KeyMod Rail Panels are designed to fit ALL KeyMod mounting surfaces with seven (7) consecutive KeyMod slots. However, the panels can also be cut to any length, as needed by an end user. Finally, the panels are bi-directional with locking tabs on either end.
Each Kit contains five (5) matching color KeyMod Panels, and are available in Black, Flat Dark Earth, Wolf Grey and Foliage Green.
Each 5 pack of BCM KeyMod Rail Panels is just $9.95.
GunPoint just released cerakoted options for their popular Skeletonized version of the B5 Systems GripStop. You can now get them in Black Stealth (no markings), FDE, OD Green and Patriot Brown in both the Standard and K size GripStop. GripStops work with any Hand Guard that has deadspace every 2 3/8″ which is used in the majority of rails and handguards on the market today. For handguards with threaded inserts every 2 3/8″, such as the LWRC and Warsport etc. you can bolt the gripstop on directly. They are selling really fast head on over and try to snag one before they are all gone.
If you’ve been active on social medial lately you’ve probably seen some sneak peeks at the new BCM (Bravo Company Mfg) super low profile KeyMod rail covers. For those of you who have been anxiously waiting to get some for yourself, the wait is now over. The new BCM KeyMod Rail Panels are now available in a kit that consists of five 5.5 inch long covers that will fit any KeyMod rail. I got my hands on a few of them and immediately put them on my BCM 16″ ELW upper with a BCM KMR 13″ rail.
Each BCM KeyMod Rail Panel will cover 7 KeyMod slots but can be cut to any shorter length to fit in shorter runs if needed. For instance, on my BCM upper I have their KAG (Kinesthetic Angled Grip) installed and have 4 KeyMod slots open in front of it. I only needed a short piece to cover where my index and middle fingers contact the rail so I grabbed my super sharp stabby thing from Matt Helm Knives and cut a two slot section to go there and the remaining 5 slots were installed on the side behind my BCM KeyMod 1913 Light Mount.
The BCM KeyMod Rail Panels are more than just a cool looking rail cover for open KeyMod slots. They offer an extreme increase in grip due to the aggressive texture. The texture on the covers actually reminds me a lot of grip tape but doesn’t feel like it will tear your hands up. If you look close you can see the BCM and Star logo on the cover.
The BCM 16″ ELW upper with the 13″ KMR is a super light weight, durable and accurate upper. Adding the new rail covers is a small add-on but an enhancement none the less. I will be adding more of the BCM KeyMod Rail Panels to my other KeyMod rails and you can too. BCM currently has the black covers in-stock for just $9.95 per 5 panel kit. Soon they will be offering FDE, OD Green and Foliage as well. Head on over to www.BravoCompanyUSA.com to order some for yourself.
You may remember that a month or so ago I picked up a Scalarworks LDM/Micro mount for my Aimpoint T-1. One of the biggest claims for the LDM/Micro mount is that it can and will hold zero after being removed and then re-mounted on the weapon. They promised a video showing how well it holds its zero and just yesterday they released it for the first time. I half expected it to be some super short video showing the mount removed and re-mounted, shoot 5 shots and say “We hit the target” but apparently just like the quality level of the LDM/Micro mount, the guys at Scalarworks don’t do anything half way.
The video is actually 11 minutes long and uncut, showing the mount attached and removed a total of 10 times with 10 rounds of .308 being fired between each “Mount/Un-Mount”. With a GoPro in the shooters Point of View you can see that each time the red dot stays right on target. No fancy editing, no magic, no shortcuts, no B.S! At the end of the video they show a zoomed up recap where you can literally see that there was absolutely no shift in the ZERO at all. Kudos to the guys at Scalarworks for not only making an outstanding mount but also putting out a video showing exactly what you can expect. Check out the video below.
Seekins Precision just announced that their new K20 Angled Grip is available for purchase. The K20 angled grip mounts to KeyMod rails and comes in a variety of different colors. One feature I just noticed that I wasn’t aware of before was the included QD Sling Mount at the back of the grip. Pics and Press Release are below. These are available for purchase at www.SeekinsPrecision.com.
Lewiston, ID – Seekins Precision, announced their new K20 Angled Grip.
Seekins Precision is proud to announce that the K20 Angled Grip is now in full production and available for purchase.
Designed as a lightweight, ergonomic alternative to the standard forward hand grip. The CNC billet constructed K20 weighs in at only 1.6oz and features an integrated sling mount and anodized finish.
The K20’s angled grip surface provides the shooter with better control of the rifle and ease in recoil. Shooters will also find that the K20 allows for a faster response time and a more accurate return of fire.
Seekins Precision will be manufacturing the K20 in both the Keymod and M-Lok configurations as well as offering a selection of anodized colors for ease in rifle customization.
“The response we received for the K20 during initial beta testing was overwhelmingly positive” said Kevin Weyrauch, Seekins Precision Business Development Coordinator. “We are excited to be able to add the K20 to our product catalog.”

Shortly after SHOT Show 2015 I received a small little box in the mail from ODIN Workswith a really cool little KeyMod handstop inside of it. I was told to wait until they introduced it to post pics of it so I have been waiting. Not sure if there was ever a specific release date on it but I noticed that they were shown in-stock on their website and thought I would share a few pics of mine.
The B1 Handstop is machined from aluminum but is still lightweight because it is pretty tiny. At first I thought it was going to be too small but once you install it and place your hand on it, it works great. You basically place your Pinky and Ring Finger on the angled portion with your middle finger against the front of the handstop. Kind of reminds me of a miniature version of the AFG.
I have had mine installed on a Geissele SMR MK4 ever since I received it and really like it. One of the features I like most about it is that it is very small. Being that its made of aluminum, its super solid as well.
The ODIN Works B1 KeyMod Handstop can be purchased for $49 at www.ODINWorks.com. If you’re looking to save a few bucks on it, I noticed you can also get them at www.RainierArms.com.
If you own a SureFire Scout light you are probably aware that there’s not really any great way to mount the included ST07 Tape Switch to the rail as it comes from the factory, especially on rails like the new M-LOK ones where there are more open spaces than metal. Most people either fashion some gangster way to either velcro it, tape it or zip tie it to the rail or they end up upgrading to a more expensive tape switch like the SR07. Those of us running M-LOK rails are gonna be happy to see that Magpul’s M-LOK SureFire Tape Switch Mounting Plate is now available for purchase and ready to ship. This basically adds a housing to your existing ST07 Tape Switch that mounts directly to the rail and holds the ST07 firmly in place. Another nice part is that they retail for just $15 so its a very cost effective option. For more information and to purchase the M-LOK Tape Switch Mounting Plate, head on over to www.Magpul.com.
BCM just introduced 3 new low profile KeyMod light mounts using their new patent pending anchoring system. The new BCMGUNFIGHTER line of light mounts consists of a modular 1913 Light Mount for lights such as the INFORCE WML, modular Scout Light Mount for use with SureFire Scout Lights and a 1″ Ring Light Mount that will work with most handheld tactical lights with a 1″ body. All three of these new mounts are in-stock and shipping now and at just $39.95 a piece, they represent a great price point as well. Take a look at the pics below, then head on over to www.BravoCompanyUSA.com to get your order in while they’re in-stock.
LANTAC USA has been absolutely awesome to watch over the last year or so. They’ve come out with some really amazing products and continue to introduced new products at lightning speed. Their latest introduction is a bit different than their Muzzle Devices, BCG, Rails, etc in that it is actually a mounting solution. We are all familiar with 1913 Picatinny, KeyMod and M-LOK. Now its time to meet LANTAC’s KAM (Keyed Accessory Mounting) because from what I can see, KAM addresses some issues I’ve personally disliked about both KeyMod and M-LOK. Only time will tell but I’m seriously hoping KAM gains a head of steam like its predecessors and becomes a huge success. Check out the video and information on KAM below.
KAM can be used for the attachment of accessories to all types of surfaces, manufactured from a variety of materials. Metal, Polymer and Composites can all be mounted onto without any damage from galling, slipping or splintering.
KAM’s unique locking system is 100% integrated into the accessory and only applies compressive force to the mounting surface. Due to its unique design a powerful force can be applied without any danger of damaging the mounting surface area.
KAM uses a low parts count for accessories and has a simple / fast to machine hole and slot pattern that also gives design and styling flexibility to the manufacturer.
KAM is Patent Pending but Free to License for manufacturing purposes, with the only requirement being the inclusion of the KAM logo on the item manufactured with its features.
Different adapter plates and locking ‘ROTO’ nuts can be used to fix the same accessories to tubular / curved surfaces so the system represents true flexibility across all types of design.
More information on adapter plates and nut designs to follow.
Gear Sector recently introduced their new Mod3 1913 Rail Mount Offset QD Socket. Gear Sector is known for making high quality, battle proven products and the Mod3 builds on that reputation. By offsetting the QD socket they were able to make it about half as wide as their original sling mount and also makes a more low profile design. Weight was reduced by 30% for the Mod3 with the weight coming in at less than 1/2 of an ounce including mounting hardware which is pretty impressive.
These offset QD Sockets work great for adjusting where on your rail your 2-point sling attaches. The mount is low profile enough that you can easily run it on the top rail section without it being in the way at all or could be mounted in either direction on any rail section to accommodate grips, etc. I placed mine on the top rail section just to the rear of where my support hand grips the rail as you can see in the pictures below.
The Patented Pending Gear Sector™ Rail Mount Offset QD Socket provides a forward mounting location for those who wish to utilize our two or three point sling with our QD push button adapter. It can also be used with a variety of other quick detach push button swivels commercially available. We designed the mount to fit perfectly flush with the Tango Down® rail panels to provide an uninterrupted rail space. The socket was designed and machined to prevent rotation which in turn prevents your sling from becoming twisted. It offsets the quick detach swivel 45 degrees allowing the weapon to hang more naturally when slung across the chest in a ready position. It comes complete with all mounting hardware, screws, hex keys, and Vibra-Tite® to make installation fast and easy. Mod 3 components feature a 30% reduction in weight; an 1144 StressProof® heat treated full width steel index, as well as the ability to index your swivel in 8 different clock positions!
MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION
The Gear Sector™ Rail Mount Offset QD Socket is constructed using multiple base materials and is precision CNC machined from billet stock. Material and finish processes are outlined below:

This week AERO Precision has their FDE Cerakoted and the Black Anodized Cantilever 30mm Red Dot Scope Mounts on sale. These mounts are “Cantilever” style which means they extend the optic past the base which can come in handy when trying to create some extra space for magnifiers, etc. I’ve actually been using one of these 30mm mounts with an Aimpoint PRO for over a year now and really like it. The FDE Cerakote model is just $67.49 and the Black Anodized model is just $59.99. Pretty hard to beat this deal, especially if you don’t need a QD lever.
