Our good friends over at Fathom Arms are pretty well known for their Standard and Enhanced Nitride BCGs. Recently they have also launched their new website and with that new website came a whole bunch of new products from other manufacturers that they are now carrying for sale. I really like that they are doing is these overview videos on the products they are carrying. These videos are not reviews but just video overviews to show you the details and features of the products. Its one thing to see a photo or two of a product but to have a nice video overview of a product prior to buying it is a nice touch. Check out their video overviews of the Fathom Arms Enhanced Nitride BCG and San Tan Tactical Billet Receiver Set below. For more videos, be sure to head on over to the Fathom Arms Youtube channel.

Recently I had the opportunity to have Joint Force Enterprises do a complete Cerakote job on one of my blasters and I wanted to give you guys a look at the results. This is something I had been wanting to do for a long time so I was really excited to finally do it. I sent them a new San Tan Tactical receiver set, a Geissele Automatics SMR MK3 rail, VLTOR EMOD stock, a Magpul MOE K2 grip and a couple awesome HexMag 30 round mags so they could coat them and then I would assemble them into a complete rifle.
I left the color choice up to JFE since they are a lot more experienced with making Black Rifles look awesomely not Black. They chose to do their Grey #5 Cerakote, kind of reminds me of a cement color, and I couldn’t be happier with the color.
One thing I wasn’t sure about was how well the Mags, Grip and Stock were going to turn out. I know people Cerakote rails and receivers all the time but you don’t see a lot of Cerakoted plastic parts. JFE did such a great job on them. It literally looks like a factory color. They’re not shiny or slippery at all. Just perfect.
The coating and shade were extremely consistent across all of the parts that I had them coat for me. There were no missed spots or spots that needed to be touched up, etc. It was absolute perfection. All of the components fit back together without issue. The mags still dropped free and the ambi controls function just as if they came off the shelf at San Tan Tactical.
To finish off this build I used the Joint Force Enterprises 16″ 416R Stainless Steel Match barrel with a 1/7 twist, San Tan Tactical STT-15 Pillar billet set, ADK Enhanced BCG, GLTactical Commander Muzzle Brake, Geissele SMR MK3 rail, Magpul MBUS Pro sights and MOE K2 grip, VLTOR EMOD stock, HexMag HEX30 mags, CMC Triggers 3.5lb Flat Trigger, IWC QD End Plate, Fortis Gas Block and an Aimpoint PRO in an American Defense Mfg QD mount.
If you’re at all looking for a company to add some life to your boring old Black Rifle, be sure to hit up Joint Force Enterprises. They do a fantastic job as you can see. Soon I’ll be doing a review on the JFE 16″ 416R SS 1/7 Match barrel so be on the look out for that article. Below are some links to check out the products I used in this build.

I’ve owned a San Tan Tactical STT-15 billet lower for quite a while now and it is one of my favorite lowers I’ve ever owned. It features full ambi controls including a built in ambi mag release and looks awesome but its always been missing one thing…a San Tan Tactical billet upper! When San Tan Tactical announced they were designing a lightweight billet upper, everyone knew it was going to be a thing of beauty. Just today they officially released the first run of billet uppers and the machining and lightening cuts look amazing. It is machined to match perfectly with a San Tan Tactical billet lower but will look fantastic with any other mil spec dimension lower as well. This first run of uppers are being offered at a special introductory price as well at just $184.95 with FREE SHIPPING.
There are many different AR-15 upper receivers on the market today. When designing this one there were a few features that were addressed. It was created lighter, stronger, and all while looking good doing it. One distinguishing characteristic is the truss pockets. The truss design acts similar to a bridge that carries and distributes the stress across the entire platform verses putting all of the stress on the material right behind the threads of the receiver. It also in turn helps improve your accuracy. The new STT receiver also comes in at only 8.2 ounces. That’s lighter than some slick side uppers!
• Single billet 7075 -T651 aerospace grade aluminum
• Fully Assembled with forward assist
• Machined in T markings
• Interfaces with all AR15/M16/M4 weapons systems
• Mil Spec Type III class II hard coat anodized Black
• Only 8.9 Ounces
• Backed by STT’s unmatched lifetime warranty.
• Made in the USA!
The first run of San Tan Tactical billet uppers are only available at www.REVOLVR.com.
You can purchase a matching billet lower for yourself new San Tan Tactical billet upper at www.SanTanTactical.com.
Special thanks to my buddy UWone77 for the photos of the upper. He gets his hands on stuff faster than anybody I know.
One of the nicest lowers I own is the San Tan Tactical STT-15 billet receiver. Not only does it have a super unique look with a great finish but each lower also comes with fully ambidextrous controls including ambi bolt release and ambi mag release, plus ambi QD sling mounts built right into the lower. Right now they have some lowers with VERY MINOR cosmetic blemishes that they are calling STT-GRENADES and are ready to move them at a heavily discounted price. This includes the new Battle Arms Development 45 degree selector compatible lowers as well. The following pictures are of an actual blem lower.
These blem lowers are 100% functionally the same as non-blem models but may have minor nicks or visible tool marks but nothing major. They are also switching to a reversed flag design where these have the forward facing flag. Some companies wouldn’t even think twice about selling these as normal lowers but they just simply aren’t up to San Tan Tactical quality standards when it comes to the finish and look of the lower.
Normal retail for non-blemished STT-15 lowers is $290 and blem lowers are normally $230. However, San Tan Tactical gave us a special discount code for St. Patrick’s Day. Use the code “AR15newsLuckyCode” at checkout to snag one for a limited time only at just $199 a piece. www.SanTanTactical.com
One of the sweetest new lowers to come out on the market recently is the San Tan Tactical STT-15 billet completely ambi lower. Not only does it have a super unique look with a great finish but each lower also comes with fully ambidextrous controls including ambi bolt release and ambi mag release, plus ambi QD sling mounts built right into the lower. Normal retails is $290 but right now they have some lowers with minor cosmetic blemishes that they are calling STT-15-GRENADES and are ready to move them at a heavily discounted price.

For non-AR15NEWS readers the price on these blem lowers is $230. However, we were able to get a special discount code just for you guys.
Use the code “ar15newsblem” at checkout and you can get yours for just $199.99. You can even choose with or without the San Tan Tactical logo on the magwell. Head on over to www.SanTanTactical.com to get one for yourself.
The old discount code had expired but San Tan Tactical gave us a new code in celebration of Presidents Day. Use the code “AR15news4Pres” at checkout to snag one for a limited time only at just $199.99 a piece. www.SanTanTactical.com
This is customer service! The guys at San Tan Tactical have an awesome lower that incorporates an ambi bolt release and ambi mag release. One concern I had as well as a few others had was the design and shape of the ambi bolt release lever. It was loose and looked like it could be a snag hazard. As you can see, San Tan Tactical listens to their customers and created a brand new lever. All lowers from here on out will have a beefed up yet much more low profile lever. The new design is much more robust and not loose at all. What’s just as good of news? San Tan is offering the STT-15 billet lower at a discounted price plus Free Shipping for the holidays (ends tonight, 12/31/2013). Used the code “STTAR15NEWS” at checkout. www.SanTanTactical.com
San Tan Tactical has really made a huge splash in the AR-15 market recently with their offering of a completely ambi billet STT-15 AR-15 lower receiver that has very unique looks and some really cool options. Each lower comes completely assembled with ambi QD sling mounts, ambi mag release and an ambi bolt release. They have decided to offer a nice Christmas sale by dropping the already reduced introductory price from $299.99 down to $289.99 and offer FREE SHIPPING as well. Just use the code “STTAR15NEWS” at checkout between now and December 31st to get in on the deal. Purchase yours at www.SanTanTactical.com.
Another important thing to mention is that San Tan Tactical has listened to their customers requests and redesigned the Ambi Bolt Release lever on the STT-15 lower. The old lever got the job done but enough people asked to have it beefed up and more low profile and San Tan Tactical was happy to do whatever made their customers happy. The photo below shows the new updated Ambi Bolt Release lever. Be sure to follow the SAN TAN TACTICAL Facebook Page for updates on new products as well.
