Out of all of the AR receivers out there the Sharps Bros receivers are by far the most unique of them all. The original Hellbreaker model broke the internet and became a huge success which ultimately paved way for the Warthog and The Jack lowers. This last week Sharps Bros announced they are releasing the new Gen2 versions of all 3 lower receivers.
The Gen2 versions will all include an updated design, threaded bolt catch pin, lighter weight and lower cost. The Hellbreaker and Warthog models also received some cool magwell cutouts that highlight their respective designs better.
These new Sharps Bros Gen2 receivers are available now with a special pre-order price at www.RainierArms.com with an estimated shipping time of December 2017. You can also visit SharpsBros.com for more details!
Here’s a great video showing the Sharps Bros facility and what goes on behind the scenes to create the Sharps Bros products.
I will be the first to admit the first two Sharps Bros lowers, the “Hellbreaker” and “Warthog”, were not really my style at all. Recently they’ve started posting pics of their newest lower, “The Jack”, which in my opinion is 100 times better than the other two. As with the previous two models, it uses the mag well to display most of the uniqueness of the lower which in this case is the face of a skull.
When I first saw it I wasn’t sure how I felt about it but you have to admit the design is pretty cool and its kind of growing on me. I remember the first time I saw the Seekins Precision lower and hated it, now its one of my favorites I own. Anyways, as with everything we do here at AR15NEWS, we wanted to get the information out to you guys, show you some pics and let you take it from there. From what I can tell they plan on releasing pricing and availability information on or around 4/1/15 on the Sharps Bros Facebook page. The pictures below show unfinished and uncoated prototypes. I believe final production models will be black.
You guys remember last year when John Sharps came up with idea for the Hellbreaker Lower? The unique design came from the old P40 Warhawk airplanes that had Shark faces painted on them. John has had many setbacks since the beginning including having his KickStarter project removed due to their policy against gun parts. Through all of this John kept pushing and pushing to get himself where he is today. They just received their first units back from anodizing and they look great. While its unique design may not be everyone’s style, I think it is really awesome to see someone put in a ton of work and make the American Dream a reality. The Sharps Bros. Hellbreaker AR-15 lower will be coming soon and I think this is going to be a great success story. You can reserve one for yourself now SharpsBros.com. Don’t forget to check out the Sharps Bros. Hellbreaker Facebook page too.
