80 Percent Arms has just introduced their new Easy Jig Gen 2 router jig. I bought their Easy Jig Gen 1 router jig to machine some 80% lowers and thought it was awesome, but this new Gen 2 jig looks amazing. Not only is it Multi-Platform (can do AR-15, AR-10 and AR-9) but it also only requires that you drill one hole to get things started, features a vacuum hose attachment and it protects the jig templates from the drill bit so they never wear out. I think I might need an upgrade!! Check out the details and video in their press release below.

The 80 Percent Arms Easy Jig Gen2 is available now at an introductory price of $199 through the end of July 2017 at www.80PercentArms.com.

Easy Jig Gen 2 Multi-Platform fits every brand of AR-15, AR-9, and DPMS style .308 lower. 90% less drilling is required. Jig templates never wear out. An integrated vacuum cleaner attachment makes clean up a breeze. These are just a few of the many improvements that together amount to the greatest advancement in jig technology since we introduced the world’s first router based jig in 2013.

Strike Industries first introduced their new Viper PDW Stock about a year ago and everyone’s been anxiously waiting for its arrival ever since. One of the coolest features of the Viper PDW stock is that it is spring loaded and fully extends with just the push of a button, meaning it can truly be operated with just one hand. Another awesome feature is that it includes a removable rubberized cheek rest. It also allows for the use of any BCG.

Strike Industries Viper PDW Stock 2

Strike Industries Viper PDW Stock 2

The Strike Industries Viper PDW stock represents the pinnacle of ultra compact PDW systems. At the compressed position, the compact Viper PDW allows for effortless maneuverability particularly in close quarters and vehicular operations. With the press of a button, the rapid deployment system instantly springs to the extended position for greater shot stability. Previous PDW systems for ARs have been notorious for expensive proprietary systems, spotty reliability and poor ergonomics.

The Viper Stock is designed to able to drop into your existing platform. The buffer system is carefully engineered to provide for high reliability while allowing for the use of standard bolt carriers, allowing for multi-role use with a single system. The included flat wire spring increases bolt load despite the compact dimensions for greater reliability, even in extreme short barrel configurations.

In addition to mechanical reliability and performance, we at Strike Industries have also paid close attention to human factors to increase comfort and controllability. The low footprint shoulder weld is shaped to conform to the shoulder pocket for maximum stability and control even in compromised or unconventional shooting positions. Included with the Viper PDW is a rubberized cheek rest to create a comfortable cheek weld, a criticism of many competitor PDW systems.

Finally, a PDW stock without compromise. Strike Hard, Strike Fast with the SI Viper PDW.

If you remember, back in November we were one of the first to give you a sneak peek of the new Vortex Optics Razor AMG UH-1 Holographic Sight. At that time all we had were some minor details and a single image. Since then more details and images have come out, including these images below that my buddy Greg Skaz Photography took while at SHOT Show 2017.

Vortex Razor AMG UH-1 1

Vortex Razor AMG UH-1 2

As you can see the Razor AMG UH-1 is not some wimpy little optic. It has a larger all metal housing that keeps everything protected and a built-in quick detach mount. There are 15 brightness settings for the new EBR-CQB reticle (shown below) and still includes the built-in micro-usb port for charging rechargeable CR-123 batteries. One thing I heard was that Vortex has been getting 1,500 hours of run time per CR-123 battery which sounds pretty awesome. Full details available at www.VortexOptics.com.

Vortex Razor AMG UH-1 Reticle

Here’s an awesome overview video Vortex Optics put together showing the optic and its features.

The MSRP price for the Razor AMG UH-1 is $699 but there are a few retailers taking pre-orders right now at just $499. I’ve listed links to them below. Vortex has said they will start filling pre-orders this Spring which, believe it or not, is right around the corner. If you’re looking to get your hands on one of these bad boys, put in your pre-order and then sit in your lawn chair out by the mail box.

At SHOT Show 2017, Tactical Walls introduced their new line of Concealment Tables. The Concealment Tables follow their pattern of creating products that look and feel like something you would use in your home every day but include a compartment designed to hide a firearm, mags, flashlight, knife, etc. The tables are available as a Coffee Table, End Table and Night Stand and multiple different color finishes. All 3 models lock and can only be opened using one of the preprogrammed RFID cards.

The Concealment Coffee Table, End Table, and Night Stand from TacticalWalls mark the first stand-alone locking units offered by the company. Similar to other offerings from TacticalWalls, they provide a clandestine staging solution for firearm owners to safely hide their defensive hardware in plain sight. From the outside, the TacticalWalls Concealment Tables appear to be just high-quality maple wood furniture. To unlock it, simply swipe one of the included pre-programmed RFID cards in front of the table, and the hidden compartment underneath the table top drops down, presenting your hidden cache.

If you weren’t sold already, here’s a short video showing one of the Tactical Walls Concealment Tables in action.

Phase 5 Weapon Systems Inc, (Phase5WSI) introduced a few new products this year at SHOT Show 2017 but the one that really stood out the most was this awesome new AR buttstock called the UMS or Universal Mini Stock. The Universal Mini Stock is an ultra compact al metal stock that can be attached to virtually any buffer tube out there including standard carbine buffer tubes and many AR Pistol buffer tubes. This could come in really handy for guys running an AR Pistol buffer tube on their AR Pistol while waiting for the tax stamp to come in. Once their stamp comes in and the AR is registered as an SBR you can just add the UMS on instead of needing to remove the pistol buffer tube and install a carbine buffer tube that accepts a stock. Sounds like these are a couple months away from being available for purchase. Check out the video and picture below.

Our friends at FightLite Industries have been working overtime behind the scenes on some really cool new projects. They’ve thrown a couple of teasers out showing a new Pistol Caliber Carbine. Pistol Caliber AR’s are one of the most active parts of the AR market right now. More and more companies are joining that segment and producing their own product but most are just “me too” products. FightLite is a pretty innovative company so its no surprise they weren’t going to just produce a basic product.

fightlite-industries-pistol-caliber-carbine-1

Here’s what we know! The three things that stand out the most to me about this setup are …
-1. It’s Caliber convertible at user level….22LR, 9mm, .40S&W, 10mm, .45ACP.
-2. It can use Glock, Beretta, CZ, S&W, Springfield and Sig mags.
-3. It appears it is a side charging upper with the handle positioned right at the front of the upper receiver.

The modularity of Caliber and Magazine compatibility make the possibilities pretty much endless and give the end user the ability to make one build and customize it to fit their current needs. Here are a couple of full auto videos for you to check out. Although it is shown in raw aluminum it will have a anodized finish.

We’ll continue to keep an eye out for additional information regarding this new product and will reach out to FightLite for some exclusive content to share. If you would like to be one of the first to know about FightLite Industry news I would suggest giving them a follow on the FightLite.Industries Instagram Account.

If you’ve been looking for BUIS lately you’ve probably noticed that what used to be a one or two dog show has all of a sudden become a main event with some really nice contenders. Now you have to decide… “Are these bulky sights okay or should I look for a super compact set?”, “Do I want to go really cheap or really expensive?”, “Do I want normal 90 degree BUIS or should I go for a set of offset ones?”, on and on the decision making goes until your head is spinning. Apparently Griffin Armament has had this same experience because their new M2 (Micro Modular) Sights address all of that and more. The new M2 Sights are very compact, can be user configured in 90 degree or 45 degree offset and the price point even for the complete “Full Deployment Kit” is right in line or cheaper than many non-modular BUIS.

griffin-armament-m2-micro-modular-sights-1

The M2 Sights can be purchased in a 90 Degree Kit, 45 Degree Offset Kit or the Full Deployment Kit which comes with both 90 Degree and 45 Degree mount plates. The Full Deployment Kit retails for just $185. They also sell just the mounting plates, so if you go for a 90 Degree now instead of the full kit you can still convert them to 45 Degree Offset BUIS down the road. Read more about this awesome new product below or head on over to www.GriffinArmament.com.

Griffin Armament is proud to introduce affordable Micro Modular Sights (M2) compatible with Picatinny rail systems. Griffin M2 sights offer an industry first, patent pending, modular base plate system. Constructed from QPQ Treated 17-4 and ordnance grade steel, Griffin M2 Sights were designed to be the correct product for every backup sight application.

griffin-armament-m2-micro-modular-sights-3

A shooter can use these durable, low profile sights in a 12 o’clock mounted application while having the flexibility to reconfigure them to ambidextrous 45 degree angle sights using the alternate and available angle plates. This flexibility ensures these sights can be used by anyone and will never end up in a box of undesirable legacy kit. The full M2 deployment kit includes the front and rear sight assemblies as well as both vertical and angled bases for a complete modular system. However, sights and bases are available separately for users who wish to buy parts as needed. The front A2 sight provides elevation adjustment while ensuring maximum aftermarket support for your favorite post, be it tritium, fiber optic, match grade, or otherwise. An extremely low profile, snag resistant, slotted rear windage screw, affords easy but more importantly secure adjustability.

griffin-armament-m2-micro-modular-sights-3

Robust spring tension of both front and rear flip up assemblies ensures accurate repeatability every time the sight towers are actuated.

Never before has a product in this category offer this degree of flexibility. Griffin M2 Sights have a minimal foot print, and are among the smallest backup sights on the market. For a mere 2 and half ounces your rifle can be equipped with a durable iron sight system, to provide aiming capability in rain, snow, or fog, on or off axis without dependence on batteries or glass.

With a simple Google search you can find quite a few AR-15 cutaway videos. Some are well done, some are dumb but absolutely none of them are as awesome as the one that Vickers Tactical and Bravo Company Mfg just released called “Inside the M4 Carbine”. One of the things I’ve always loved about the videos that Larry Vickers puts out is his use of super high speed video and this video is chocked full of it along with some amazing editing, close up action video and you can view it all in stunning 4K Ultra HD. I’ve watched this video quite a few times already and could watch it over and over again. If you’re ready to be amazed, check out the video below and be sure to watch it full screen in 4K UHD. For the seasoned shooter, making adjustments on their go to optic may seem like second nature. For a novice or new shooter, making those same adjustments can take some time to figure out. Now throw in different optics with different click values and even an experienced shooter can get thrown off. ZeroBravo has just introduced the new S.M.A.R.T. Card which is designed as a tool to help you know right away what each click of virtually any optic represents from 7 meters all the way out to 400 meters.

The Simple Marksman Adjustment Reference Table, or S.M.A.R.T. Card, was developed to provide a simple answer to the question we have all had on the range. “How many clicks do I need to move up an inch at this distance?”

While the concept is simple, amassing the data into a useful format was key. For example – The DeltaPoint Pro or Trijicon RMR moves 1” per click at 100 yards. But how does that translate on your pistol at 7 yards? The answer to that question is 1 click moves 4/57” at 7 yards. Great! That is useless information to someone trying to figure out how many clicks to move their adjustment. So it is simplified to 1/14 – so it would take 14 clicks to move it 1 inch at 7 yards.

All the data was calculated for both yards and meters and the average was used. This number was then simplified to fractions of 1/* in order to give the shooter or coach a useful reference for how far to move that particular optic at the referenced distance. An example of this is that the M4 rear sight 3/4” per click at 100 meters. At 25 meters, it moves 6/35”. To simplify this, we change this to 7/35” – or simply 1/5”. So now you know you need to go 5 clicks at 25 meters to move 1”. While we freely acknowledge that the mathematical conversions are not exact, we feel that the difference of 1/35” is negligible and the referenced measurement is much more useful as the simple fraction.

zero-bravo-smart-card-1

In addition to the data referenced on our wheel from 7m to 400 meters, the card also contains 2 rulers for measuring your groups as well as two trajectory illustrations for instructors to better explain this concept to their students.

zero-bravo-smart-card-1

The card is made from water proof die cut PVC so additional protection is not required for use on the range, in your field bag, or anywhere else. Measuring 5” wide and 4” tall, the card will easily fit in your uniform pocket, back pocket or range bag.

The S.M.A.R.T. Card is manufactured from die cut PVC and is 100% Made in the USA.

Height:   4 in (10.16 cm)

Width:   5 in (12.7 cm)

Depth:   0.06 in (0.15 cm)

Weight:   0.5 oz (14.17 g)

I personally love to take someone who has never shot before and teach them firearms safety, get them out shooting, learning how to make scope adjustments, etc. The last thing I want to do with that new shooter is overwhelm them with a figuring out click values at different distances.

Using a tool like this in conjunction with working through the actual math reinforces that you’re doing the correct mental math. Practice Makes Perfect! While not everyone will feel the need for this product I definitely see it coming in very handy when helping new shooters learn how to make adjustments, working with a new optic, etc. Being that its made of a durable PVC material its an easy item to just throw in your range bag and take it with you anytime you shoot.

The new ZeroBravo S.M.A.R.T. Card is priced at just $14.95 available right now at www.ZeroBravo.com.

Multitasker Tools is officially announcing that they are offering the Multitasker Tools TWIST mulititool in #TeamTaskerTan (a blend of Coyote Tan with a hint of OD). The Multitasker Tools TWIST is hands down one of the most useful and easily carried tools I own. When not in use the TWIST is basically the size of a sharpie and clips to a pocket, pouch, MOLLE webbing, etc. but when you need its help it quickly changes into the superhero of multitools able to tackle pretty much anything you ask of it. Even though the TWIST is “weaponcentric” (designed for weapon maintenance) you’ll find yourself grabbing the TWIST for tons of non-weapon jobs as well.

This new product from Indian Creek Design is a two piece shield for virtually any muzzle device on the market. It uses a threaded collar that goes on before the muzzle device that the main body of the BFD (Blast Forwarding Device) screws onto.  This allows it to mount without attaching directly to any specific muzzle device and can be threaded on or off as needed. Check out the press release and pictures below. These are on sale now at www.indiancreekdesigninc.com

**Press Release**

Nampa, Idaho, September 26, 2016 – No longer will your shooting partners, entry team members, or your wife and kids shrink back from your invitation to go shoot your muzzle brake equipped rifle. The creative minds at Indian Creek Design, Inc (ICD) have solved one of shooting’s annoying dilemmas, eliminating the side and back blast from an effective muzzle brake, with an ingenious device that will have everyone at ranges and along firing lines across this great nation enjoying their chosen pastime more and getting better training in.

Muzzle brakes work by providing ports for the rapidly moving and expanding gasses that propel a bullet to hit against as they exit the end of a firearm barrel, re-directing those gasses to the sides and often back at the shooter to control recoil and offer quicker follow up shots and to control the muzzle so the impact of your previously fired shots can be seen via your optics to assess accuracy. They are also the bane of Range Officers and other people on the firing line, as well as tactical entry team members, etc, due to the back blast associated with their use.

“Muzzle brakes have been around for generations and they are invaluable, especially in target and tactical situations,” says Gary Adams, a spokesperson for ICD, “but people get sick of the blast associated with using a muzzle brake. This has led to a rise in sales of flash cans and linear compensators which only channel gasses forward but do nothing for muzzle rise and recoil. There are a few companies that make a system that couples a specific flash can with a specific muzzle brake but these are relatively expensive and up until now there has been no option for a consumer or law enforcement agency to use whichever muzzle brake they prefer and also run a blast forwarding device with that brake to defeat the blast and noise.

We at ICD have undertaken the task of engineering and perfecting a simple and elegant blast forwarding device, the ICD BFD, that will fit on many rifles and that works in conjunction with virtually any muzzle brake the shooter wants to use. The BFD, which adds only 2.6 ounces to the rifle, is stunningly simple in design, but so very effective that it will literally change the way shooters look at muzzle brakes and shooting in general. It is absolutely amazing how effective it is.”

icd-bfd-1

An added benefit in the BFD re-directing the muzzle blast is the re-direction of the ear drum shattering noise as well. Independent testing has proven that a muzzle brake causes up to a 10x increase in discharge sound level that hits the shooter and those in the surrounding area. The BFD corrals that damaging sound wave and sends it downrange. The perceived sound near the shooter is reduced dramatically. Despite this ability, the BFD is not an NFA controlled item, it is not a suppressor, and no special permissions are required to own or use it.

icd-bfd-1

The ICD BFD is available for any rifle with 1/2″ threaded muzzle devices (AR variants, etc) and for 5/8″ threaded devices such as on AR-10’s, etc. The BFD was extensively tested on various caliber rifles, up to and including a 7mm Remington Magnum bolt action rifle, with excellent results. Finished in a matte black MilSpec Type III hardcoat, Mr. Adams feels that this will quickly become a must have for the casual or avid shooter who wants muzzle control and doesn’t want to feel or subject others to the punishing back blast, and also for tactical operations and Law Enforcement use where the brake blast can be detrimental to operational success and the safety of the personnel involved. Every Range Officer in the world will want these on every rifle, they are that effective.

Instead of spending a large amount of money for a proprietary device that handcuffs equipment choices, departments, agencies, and civilian shooters can now add a moderately priced (MSRP $79.95) piece of American made kit to their existing platform and get a lot more, or rather a lot less, “BANG for their buck”!
