HiViz is know worldwide as the leader in fiber optic sights for Shotguns, Pistols and Rifles.  They make use of fiber optic light tubes that gather every last bit of light and focus it into one, bright aiming point.  A little while ago, Trevor at HiViz, was king enough to send me one of their AR-15 Front Sight sets so I could do a review and share it with all of you.  

The HiViz AR2008 AR-15 Front Sight works with any AR-15 with an A1/A2 front sight.  It comes with 2 green and 2 red light tubes, the front sight, front sight adjustment tool, detent plunger, light tube removal tool and carrying tube.  The AR2008 is very easy to install.  I think it took me about 3 minutes.

I could sit here and tell you how awesome the HiViz AR-15 sight is but unless you see it for yourself you wouldn’t understand.  It is seriously amazing how much light the HiViz Light Tubes gather.  They say a picture is worth a thousand words so I took some.  The pictures below were taken on an overcast day.  I had the sights mounted on my rifle but took them off to take the pictures.  Also that way my neighbors didn’t think I was going to go postal.

While many times the standard A1/A2 front sight will do just fine the HiViz AR2008 AR-15 front sight is a huge improvement no matter what the lighting condition.  If you could guarantee that your target would always be pretty light then an all black front sight post wouldn’t be a bad thing, but you can’t guarantee that.  In the real world your target is never the same and the front sight post can get washed out in the background.  However, the bright HiViz sight gives you an easy to acquire aiming point.

The HiViz AR2008 AR-15 Front Sight is a great upgrade for any AR-15 shooter.  I would definitely recommend it.  Head on over to www.HiVizSights.com and read other reviews as well.  Oh by the way, this upgrade wont break the bank.  Check for yourself!
