LANTAC has been working on the new .308 (Heavy) Version of their E-BCG for some time now and they just announced it is now in production. The E-BCG is simply one of the best AR15 BCG’s on the market and now you’re looking at possibly the best AR10 BCG out there as well. Time will tell but I am expecting great things from the E-BCG “Heavy”. Not sure on price just yet but if the price of the AR15 E-BCG is any indicator, it’s not going to be cheap. We’ll keep you up to speed as more information regarding the E-BCG Heavy is released.

Phase 5 Weapon Systems has recently introduced a couple of really cool looking new Hex shaped muzzle brakes. The first was the FATman Hex Brake which utilizes a two chamber design to reduce felt recoil and 12 o’clock ports to compensate for muzzle rise. The newest version is the littleBOY Hex Brake and, as I’m sure you’ve guess already, is a little bit more compact (shorter) than the FATman. Currently both Brakes are available for 556/.223 and 7.62×51/.308/300blk but my contacts at P5WS have told me they will be releasing 9mm, 7.62×39 and 6.8mm versions later this month. Check out these sweet looking muzzle brakes and read the info below. Will make sure we let you know when the additional caliber options are available in a few weeks.
FATman Hex Brake
The FATman Hex Brake was created to solve issues faced by many competition shooters and precision rifle builders. The 2 large (FAT) ventilated baffle sections and chambers create the compensation needed to reduce the overall recoil felt by the shooter.
The FATman Hex Brake includes two top ports machined at a 20 Deg. forward directed angle. These top ports help direct the energy of the spent gas in a manner that maintains a flat consecutive result shot after shot. The design of the FATman Hex Brake allows the first chamber wall to sit as close to the barrel crown plane as possible. This design element was included to maintain the full accuracy of the barrel.
littleBOY Hex Brake
Introducing the littleBOY Hex Brake; a younger, compact version of the original FATman Hex Brake, which was also created to solve issues faced by many competition shooters and precision rifle builders.
Including 1 large (FAT) ventilated baffle section and chamber to create the compensation needed to reduce the overall recoil felt by the shooter. Just like its big brother, the design of the littleBOY Hex Brake allows the chamber wall to sit as close to the barrel crown plane as possible. This design element was included to maintain the full accuracy of the barrel.
The iconic Phase 5 Hex design gives the FATman and littleBOY Hex Brakes the perfect styling that custom gun builders are looking for.

If you remember back to the beginning of 2015 we predicted that the .308 AR market was going to explode and it absolutely did. The increase in demand for the AR-10 has brought great new products at amazing prices from many companies and that definitely includes Faxon Firearms. Faxon just added 3 more barrels to their line of .308 barrels bringing the total to 12 different models. FALKOR Defense has been on a hot pace, introducing one new product after another and I think you’ll see that continue throughout 2016 for them. After their huge showing at SHOT last month they came home and got back to work. First up is this new “King” Breacher Muzzle Brake. The “King” is designed for use on barrels with a 5/8-24 thread and .30-Cal ammunition such as 300BLK or .308. As with all FALKOR Defense components and rifles, this thing is built to withstand a lifetime of abuse and then some. Read more about the “King” Breacher Muzzle Brake below, then head on over to www.FALKORDefense.com to purchase one for yourself.
FALKOR Defense “King” Breacher
The “King” Breacher muzzle brake is designed with two elements in mind; kicking ass and minimizing recoil and muzzle rise. The “King” is designed specifically for .30-cal “battle rifles” utilizing a simple two port design with a diffused front baffle to help reduce back pressure. The unique 2-port tapered design combined with an internal variable diameter chamber maximizes the efficiency of gas pressure distribution while the port shape redirects the flow to eliminate muzzle rise. All FALKOR muzzle brakes are machined from 12L14 Steel and case hardened to a Rockwell hardness of 50c before the black Nitride finish process to insure longevity of the baffle integrity. The result is a simple and effective brake that will withstand the abuse of .30-caliber semi-auto use while sustaining precision on target.
*comes with a 5/8″ crush washer for installation
Weight: 3.01 oz
Threads: 5/8 – 24 TPI (standard .30-cal)
Coating: Black Nitride

I have a few LR-308 rifles, two of which I have personally built myself. Both of those rifles I wanted to run a standard AR-15 stock and buffer tube on instead of say a .308 PRS. Not only is it nice to have the option to swap stocks with any of my other ARs or to use stocks such as the Magpul UBR but the AR-15 buffer tube is slightly shorter than the AR-10 buffer tube making it a bit more compact. I’ve shown this setup to tons of people and they love it. To do this I’ve used what is called an LR-308 Carbine Buffer and the LR-308 Carbine Spring.
My FALKOR Defense .308 16″ with a normal AR-15 UBR stock installed.
So far so good but I’ve been thinking about increasing the buffer weight to reduce felt recoil a bit and just make it even smoother. My current buffers weigh in at just 3.8 ounces which is pretty light. Most LR-308 Heavy Buffers are close to $100 so last night, when KAK Industry told me about there new LR-308 Carbine Heavy Buffer, I was all ears.
As you may already know, KAK Industry makes all of their parts in house so they not only make sure their Quality Control is top notch but also they can pass on the savings to their customers. The new KAK LR-308 Carbine Heavy Buffer is made from superior 304 grade stainless steel for durability, hardness, and longevity vs the typical 303 grade stainless steel. They also have solid tungsten cores and weigh 5.5 ounces. Whats even more impressive is that they are selling them at just $55 each. At that price it is a no-brainer to upgrade to the heavy buffer.
These are available for purchase now. I literally just ordered some other parts from KAK Industry last night and should have added a couple of these too. If you’ve got an 308 AR or are in the process of building one, and want to run an AR-15 buffer tube on it, my suggestion is to go with this LR-308 Carbine Heavy Buffer and an LR-308 Carbine Buffer Spring. KAK Industry is an awesome small business to show some support to.

F-1 Firearms had some really sweet looking rifles in their SHOT Show booth. Many of the rifles they showcased featured finishes by some of the best Cerakote guys in the business such as BlownDeadLine (BDL Custom Finish). The BDR-15 3G rifles really stood out with their cool skeletonized receivers and rails.
They also introduced their new BDR-10 receiver sets (we were the first to offer a sneak peek here) which will definitely create some sweet looking big bore builds.
You can follow F-1 Firearms on their social media channels below as well as their website.

If you looked close at SHOT Show you just might have spotted the .308 Hexmag magazine. I haven’t heard any official dates as to when Hexmag will be introducing the .308 magazine but it sure it awesome to see that they are actively working on the magazines. Below are the pictures of a couple of .308 Hexmags shown at SHOT Show.

Faxon Firearms was at SHOT Show this year. They showed off some really cool stuff including their Holding Precision Firearms rifles as well as the much anticipated ARAK-31 (.308) version of the ARAK.
For Holding Precision Firearms they featured the Wraith rifle. It has a really cool Carbon Fiber handguard, the Curse dual chamber muzzle brake, billet receivers and even a Carbon Fiber stock. http://faxonfirearms.com/brands/Houlding.html
Of course, everyone wants to see the Faxon Firearms ARAK-31 .308 rifle. It appears they’ve made some nice improvements so far including the ambi charging handle that can be used at the same time as the standard folding charging handle. The ARAK-31 features an ambi ejection port meaning the end user can rotate the bolt 180 degrees and choose which side they would like the rifle to eject on. Another nice touch is the M-LOK attachment method on the rail as well as the QD sling attachment points. Not sure when the release date is but lets hope it’s soon! http://faxonfirearms.com/arak/arak-31-308-win/
