A few months back one of my personal favorites manufacturers, Noveske Rifleworks, announced introduced their brand new NSR Handguard. At first glance the Noveske NSR might look familiar with its smooth round shape and single 1913 rail at the 12 o’clock position, but in reality the NSR is much different than any other handguard on the market. The NSR has a very small diameter is designed with a unique new accessory mounting system called KeyMod. I had heard that these would not be available for purchase for some time but apparently being the Noveske Dealer of the Year gets you special treatment.

Over the last few years their has been a surge in popularity of lightweight, modular handguards. Some of the more expensive ones are tubular carbon fiber ones but the most popular are the polymer ones. Strike Industries just recently announced their own lightweight handguard called the MITCH (Multifunction Integrated Tactics Combat Handguard). Strike put a new spin on this popular product by changing up the shape and adding an integrated moveable handstop. They will soon be launching their modular rail sections for the MITCH as well. I think the design for this handguard is definitely going in the right direction. Hopefully we’ll see different lengths offered in the future too. This is definitely worth checking out. I’ve got some pictures and additional information below! - Ben
You know how much Multitasker Tools likes you AR15News readers? Enough to give you an exclusive sneak peek at their super popular Multitasker Series 2x with the soon to be released Tan G-10 handles. This is a nice contrast to their usual black handles. Shane sent us a pre-production version including a new prototype/concept carry pouch to take some photos of and then share with you guys. Check out the pics and my initial impressions below.
LaRue Tactical is very well known for making some amazing rifles but I don’t think enough word gets out about the high quality accessories that they produce as well. LaRue Tactical just recently added an AR-15 grip to their accessory lineup called the A-PEG Grip. It has a very ergonomic design and actually looks pretty cool which is hard to say for some of the recent grips to come to market. The A-PEG grip is available for both 5.56 (AR-15) and 7.62×51 (AR-10) rifles and comes in either smooth or rough textured versions. Obviously some 7.62 rounds such as 300 Blackout (7.62×35) will not require the extended grip design as they utilize a standard AR-15 lower receiver. I’m thinking I may have to give this grip a try. LaRue Tactical products are usually pretty pricey but that’s definitely not the case with their new A-PEG Grip. Check out the pics and details below!
AIM Surplus is offering a really nice deal on a bit more high end complete upper receiver. They chose some outstanding components for this complete upper receiver including a Daniel Defense 16″ Cold Hammer Forged barrel and the Spike’s Tactical 12″ BAR quad rail which is produced by Seekins Precision. This upper is complete so all you need is to pick up a set of sights and you’re good to go. Check out the picture and all the details below. This is definitely a nice upper to consider.
Most of us AR nuts have a few boring old AR-15/AR-10 Charging Handles laying around at home. If you’ve been trying to figure out what to do with them you need to check out the new Battle Latch Extension Charging Handle Upgrade pack from Phase 5 Tactical. This upgrade pack has everything you need to turn your standard Charging Handle into a modern day Tactical Charging Handle including an extended Tactical Charging Handle Latch and an upgrade Coiled Spring Pin which is much stronger than the standard roll pin.
