So at this point I have purchased and installed a Leapers UTG 3-9X40 Scope and done some shooting at the range but it still looks pretty basic. I decided that the next thing I needed for my AR-15 was a Rail System to replace the standard boring plastic hand guards that come with most AR’s. A friend of mine had been given a new rail system so he offered to sell me his practically new UTG PRO Model 4/15 Carbine Length Quad Rail System for just $20. I am not one to turn down a good deal so I took him up on the offer.
Being that this is my first time removing anything from my rifle and replacing it with something new, I was a bit hesitant to just jump right in. After discussing how to remove the standard hand guards with some of my buddies, I decided to give it a try.
First you pull down on the Delta Ring, then with your other hand pull apart the two halves of the hand guards. (Note: This is much easier if you have someone else pull the hand guards apart but since my wife still thinks I don’t need all of this stuff I won’t ask for her help! 🙂 )
Once you have removed the hand guards the next step is to install the rail system. The UTG Pro Rail System is a two piece construction that screws together. All you need to do is place the two pieces together into the Delta Ring and close the forward end over the round front cap near your gas block. All that is left to do is put the screws in and tighten them down. I thought to myself…..”Wait, that’s it?” It was a lot easier that I thought it would be and it sure made my gun look a lot cooler.
I am totally blown away at how nice this rail system! Fits absolutely perfect, no wobble or rattle. Just awesome!
