NEW!! Wilson Combat T.R.I.M. Rail for .308 AR’s

Posted on May 29th, 2013 by ar15news

Wilson Combat just introduced a brand new .308 version of their awesome T.R.I.M. rail.  T.R.I.M. stands for “Tactical Rail Interface, Modular”.   For a regular AR15 there are many “modular” rails out there that allow you to move rail sections around to fit your needs but there are very few for the .308 variants.  The T.R.I.M. has always stood out because of Wilson Combat’s attention to detail and quality.  Now they have another reason and that is because they also offer a version that fits .308 DPMS Patter AR rifles.  The new .308 T.R.I.M. rail is available for purchase right now in both 12″ and 14″ lengths.  You can check them out at WilsonCombat.com or by clicking the individual links below.

NEW!! Centurion Arms CMR Rail System

Posted on May 16th, 2013 by ar15news

After weeks and months of being teased by all of the Stickman gunporn pictures of the new Centurion Arms CMR rail system the wait is finally over.  The CMR is a modular tubular style rail that features low profile attachment options such as 1913 picatinny rail sections, bipod mount, light mount, handguard covers, etc.  As with the original Centurion Arms rail, the C4, the CMR is built to withstand the worst punishment you can throw at it.  The CMR will be available as a 12″ and 14″ model in both 5.56 and 7.62/.308 versions.  The 7.62/.308 models shipped first so they are in-stock right now over at RainierArms.com.  The first batch of 5.56 models will be shipping today so you’ll start to see them in-stock over the next few days at the dealers listed below.  Just in case you missed some of the awesome photos of the CMR I’ve added some for you drool over courtesy of the one and only Stickman.

PNW Arms “Mortar Naming Contest”

Posted on May 5th, 2013 by ar15news

We need your help to come up with a better name for one of our mortar systems. This is the heaviest one in our arsenal, however, it needs a better name. It’s sister is called NanoMortar and we are pretty high on that name since it only weighs a little over 12 pounds.

To attract some good names (and bad ones too) we will be giving away to two things: 200 Rounds of 300BLK Match or 7.62×51 Sniper ammunition and our military patches to the name we choose.

You can still win some ammunition by sharing and liking the post (linked to below) to attract others who may be better with the written word than you or I. This part of the contest will be for a $250 gift certificate to our online store and one of our secret squirrel military patches to boot.

.308/7.62×51 NiB-X FA BCG Pre-Order at Harris Tactical

Posted on January 22nd, 2013 by ar15news

If you own a .308 rifle you know that finding new parts can be difficult and time consuming.  To complicate things not all .308/7.62×51 components are interchangeable which makes it even more difficult.  Well, if you own a DPMS Pattern .308 AR you’re in luck.  Harris Tactical is doing another pre-order, this time for the .308/7.62×51 NiB-X FA BCG for DPMS Pattern rifles.  These should be ready in mid to late February so it wont be that long of a time to wait.  You’ve got to get in on this soon though before the pre-order ends.  Head on over the HarrisTactical.com to pre-order yours.

Harris Tactical NiB-X 308 762 BCG pre-orderHarris Tactical NiB-X 308 762 BCG pre-order

These .308 (DPMS Pattern) Bolt Carrier Groups feature NiB-X Nickel Boron Baked Coating, which provides extreme durability, performance, and reliability. The Nickel Boron coating is corrosion resistant and harder than Nickel Teflon, Melonite, or Hard Chrome with a hardness of RC 72. Cycling is smoother and debris and buildup can simply be wiped free.

Components included in the Assembly are mil-spec and manufactured by US suppliers. The Bolt assembly is case hardened, shot peened, magnetic particle inspected, and constructed of Carpenter 158 steel. The extractor includes a high performance spring and black buffer. The 308 style Carrier is machined from 8620 steel, heat treated, and case hardened. Attachment of the Gas Key is done with grade 8 hardened fasteners, which are staked per mil-specs. The Gas Key is sealed with the proper gasket as well.

SPECS: Fits .308 DPMS Patterned upper receivers.

Nickel Boron baked on coating

Bolt – carpenter 158 steel, case hardened, shot peened, magnetic particle inspected.

Extractor – includes black buffer, black o-ring, and spring.

Carrier – 8620 steel, heat treated, and case hardened.

Gas Key – properly staked grade 8 heat treated fasteners.

Full-Auto Cut (Non-NFA Item)

Pre-Order for mid to late February delivery target.

Does not work in Armalite AR-10 or Rock River .308 Rifles. This BCG works in “DPMS” Pattern ARs Only. Gas key will be staked. These are early shots as they are still in production.

Now you have an option to add the only lubricant/cleaner that sticks to Nickel Boron, which is FIRE Clean. This product is revolutionary on all moving metal surfaces, Direct impingement, suppressed and belt fed weapons. Works well on all surfaces and non-toxic. If you would like more than one bottle, type in “Fireclean” in the white search box to add more. You can also read more about it. Once you do and use it, you’ll never use anything else on your weapons.

SNEAK PEEK!! New Griffin Armament .308 Flash Comp

Posted on December 31st, 2012 by ar15news

Griffin Armament LogoGriffin Armament just released a picture of their new .308 Flash Comp which they will be introducing at SHOT Show 2013.  They already have a pretty impressive line of Suppressors, Comps and Flash Hiders.  The .308 Flash Comp is a non-suppressor mount but is very similar to their M4SD II Flash Comp which is currently available for 5.56 chambered rifles.  With a 5/8×24 thread pattern this should be compatible with most 7.62 variant barrels including my favorite, 300AAC Blackout.  Based on the sizing in the photo below, the .308 Flash Comp (on the right) would be plenty long enough to bring a 14.5″ barrel to 16″ overall if you pinned and welded it as the 5.56 model (on the left) is 2.25″ long.  If you’re headed to SHOT Show in Vegas be sure to stop by and check these guys out.  Otherwise it sounds like these should be available very soon.

Griffin Armament .308 Flash Comp

“New and in time for SHOT in 2013- the .308 Flash Comp is here. The flash comps offer improved flash signature reduction, slightly higher recoil reduction, slightly improved muzzle stability over our standard tactical compensators.”

Be sure the take a look at GriffinArmament.com and the Griffin Armament Facebook Page.
