SNEAK PEEK!! Fortis Manufacturing Mount for Aimpoint Micro

Posted on April 8th, 2013 by ar15news

One of my favorite new manufacturers to come to the AR15 market over the past few years is Fortis Manufacturing.  They have quickly become known for innovative, high quality and awesome looking parts quicker than I really remember anyone doing that.  The moment you get your hands on any of their parts you can feel that its not some cheap piece of junk.  My first experience with Fortis was when they released their RAP (Rail Attachment Point) and the MPSA (Multi Point Sling Attachment) End Plate.  I liked them enough that I put them on all of  my guns right away.  But when they came out with their Fortis REV rail they really made their mark and let everyone know they were the real deal. Just a few months later and they are now introducing another game changer.  The Fortis T-1 Mount for Aimpoint Micro red dots.  I’ve only had mine for a few weeks but I can tell you I like it a lot.  Check out the pictures and details below.

You really only have one chance to make a first impression and with the Fortis T-1 Mount its a good one.  Humans are visual creatures so we want our things to look nice or cool.  If you’re an owner of the Fortis REV rail you’ll notice that the cutouts on the mount are the same angle as the cutouts on the rail which ties it in even better.  The best part is that while looking cool its also saving a lot of weight.  Weighing in at just over 1 ounce you’ll definitely be saving some weight over your standard T-1 mount.

The Fortis T-1 mount is also very low profile which you can see by the picture below.  No large levers or sharp edges to get caught up on anything.  Just low profile, light weight awesomeness.

Another feature that I really like about the Fortis T-1 mount is that the clamping mechanism uses the entire side of the mount instead of one or two small little nubs to hold onto the rail.  By doing this it creates an even clamp and allows you to remove the red dot and re-mount it with little to no loss of zero.  Big plus if you ask me.  If you look at the second photo below you’ll also see that the screws are contained instead of open making it so the screws do not scratch the heck out of your upper receiver rail.  Not that I don’t intend to get scratches on the gun but I hate when I mount a light or sights and they leave gouges in the metal.  Just my $.02

Overall, I can say this thing is going to be a huge hit.  With the weight savings I was worried that it would feel kind of cheap or weak but that is totally not the case as I should have expected from Fortis Mfg.  It mounts up rock solid and looks absolutely awesome.  I spoke with one of the owners today and it looks like they will be releasing it for purchase any day now.  The mounts are ready to go, they are just finishing up the package/labels right now.  My guess is to keep an eye on FortisMfg.com and RainierArms.com as they will be the first places to have these.  With a retail price of just $89.95 its hard to go wrong.

If you really want to be in the know, keep an eye on the Fortis Manufacturing Facebook Page and the Rainier Arms Facebook Page.

Battleline Industries S.A.P.R. for Magpul Stocks Intro Sale

Posted on March 28th, 2013 by ar15news

The first shipment of the new Magpul compatible version of the Battleline Industries S.A.P.R. (Stock Attachment Precision Rifle) are on their way to Rainier Arms right now.  Rainier Arms has made a practice of offering their initial shipment of new products to their customers at a discounted price instead of charging more for it just because everyone’s waiting for it.  The S.A.P.R. is an extremely modular precision rifle attachment  that mounts to your Magpul stocks (all except for the PRS).  I personally have been fortunate to get my hands on one of these and I’m totally surprised how much I like it.  With the S.A.P.R. I can quickly convert my AR15 from just a standard configuration to a DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle) setup utilizing the adjustable cheek riser and butt plate.  Most precision rifle stocks for the AR15 are fixed but with the S.A.P.R. you still retain the ability to adjust the length of pull on the fly.  The normal retail price is going to be $199.95 but you can get in on this first shipment for just $169.95 only at RainierArms.com.  Check out the video, pics and details below.

Battleline Industries SAPR

The Stock Attachment Precision Rifle (S.A.P.R.) Magpul variant is a lightweight adjustable attachment designed to fit all six Magpul collapsible stocks (i.e. CTR, MOE, ACS, ACS-L, UBR & STR). Weighing in at ONLY 12 oz, the Magpul variant of the S.A.P.R. was designed by Battleline Industries to allow the operator more flexibility with their weapon platform. The S.A.P.R. has a fully adjustable cheek rest and butt-pad giving the operator the ability to custom fit the weapon system to their body and equipment. This allows the shooter to maintain proper marksmanship fundamentals and facilitate more accurate shots on target.

A key feature of the S.A.P.R. is the rotaing cheek piece which rotates left or right 90 degrees allowing the shooter to transition from their primary optic to Back Up Iron Sights (BUIS) or a 45 degree off set Mini Red Dot Sight (MRDS) without any further adjustment to the cheek piece height.

The S.A.P.R. is proudly made 100% in the USA and is compatible with these weapon systems listed below, utilizing the correct AR-15 carbine stock / buffer tube adapter and any of the six Magpul collapsible stocks both Mil-Spec & Commercial.

DOES NOT INCLUDE STOCK

We’ve seen Damage Industries bring some really awesome deals to the AR15 market in the past and now they’ve done it again with their new Rigid Rail which is a Carbine Length 2-piece drop-in quad rail.  These are going to be perfect for an inexpensive upgrade to the standard Carbine Length M4 uppers that are so common.  Many people just leave them as is because they don’t want to spend a couple hundred dollars on a rail or they don’t want to add a bunch of additional weight.  The Rigid Rail addresses both of those concerns with an introductory price of just $99 and it weighs in at only 9 ounces.  Damage Industries said “Make no mistake, this rail isn’t for fanboys  It is heavy duty and designed for a combat environment. You’re not going to crack the rail if you drop it. Still, it’s relatively lightweight ~ 9 oz.”  These are definitely going to be worth checking out.  Keep an eye on the Damage Industries Facebook Page and AR15NEWS.com for the announcement as they are released for sale.  Complete details are listed below.

The Damage Industries Rigid Rail is an entirely unique, proprietary 2 piece drop-in hand guard replacement quad rail that interfaces with a standard government issue barrel nut. We named it the Rigid Rail because once it’s in place, it does not move or flex and no gunsmithing is required. It is precision machined to MIL-STD-1913 specifications with a MIL-SPEC hard coat anodized finish and the slot positions are CNC engraved. Multiple colors will be available at the introductory retail price of $99.  Available SOON at DamageUSA.com   DEALERS INQUIRE NOW!

Tactical Link makes hands down my favorite clamp on Bolt Catch/Release Lever.  Theirs is called the EBAL which stands for Enhanced Battery Assist Lever and utilizes not one mounting screw but 3 to make it rock solid.  I have purchased and installed these on more than a few of my rifles.  My most recent build to use these is on my AR Pistol (pictured below).  Just a few months ago Tactical Link added Magpul FDE and Magpul Foliage as color options for the EBAL.  Today they announced that they will be adding Magpul OD Green, Prison Pink and Zombie Green.  As if that wasn’t cool enough, Tactical Link also reduced the price on the EBAL from $29.95 down to $26.95.  Purchase your own at TacticalLink.com  You won’t regret it!

GWACS Armory CAV15 MKII Lower Receiver – IN-STOCK!!

Posted on January 19th, 2013 by ar15news

Over the last month the number one question I get asked whether in person, through emails or just messages on Facebook is “Do you know where I can get an AR15 Lower?”.  For the most part my answer is always the same, “They’re sold out everywhere.  Try to get in on a Pre-Order or wait until someone announces that they will have some in-stock.”  The main issue is that you and thousands of other people are already doing the same thing and most of the people looking end up missing out on the lowers once they release.  I know of one company recently who sold 1,500+ lowers in 1.5 hours.  Well, if you are one of the people still looking for an AR15 lower I can help you with that.

Rainier Arms has almost 100 (32 Black and 60 FDE) of the GWACS Armory CAV15 MKII Lower Receivers IN-STOCK and ready to ship.  These lowers are made of polymer and include the pistol grip and fixed buttstock, utilize a standard mil-spec lower parts kit and come with a Lifetime Warranty.  Don’t let the “polymer” part discourage you from trying one out.  My friend Matt over at JerkingTheTrigger.com just did a full review on the CAV15 MKII and he was pleasantly surprised.  From what I gathered from Matt’s review there may be a little bit of flashing left form the molds etc. but nothing that couldn’t be touched up with a file or some sand paper.  I’ve personally never had the pleasure of trying one but I might have to look into getting one of these.  You can pick one up right now for the normal , every day, not jacked up, price of just $195 at RainierArms.com.
